Ron Fellows school fast lap and overheating w/A8

On the PDR, is it available to display engine or diagnostic stats such as the temps, etc? I'm guessing not but am considering whether the PDR is a must-have for when I buy.
Secondly, when you are lapping does the driver reset the lap timer each lap or is it picking up on something at the track start/finish?

Was that "Nick" instructing you?
Those guys are great and make the driving schools a lot of fun.
No offense, but I think one of them in a Z06 could easily be faster than a 1:17. He was driving a standard C7 one handed, talking on the radio while looking in the mirror at you and still managed to lead you to a 1:20.xx

When I was there years ago for the ZR1 class, the instructors drove Z51s and the students were in the ZR1s.

I looked up the high temps in Pahrump for those 2 days and found that they were 80 & 82, so there goes the high ambient temp excuse. Let's face it, the car wasn't even being run that hard. I sure hope GM does the right thing with this situation.

I think that's standard. When I was there in June they did the same thing. Those of us with z06's ran with the others. The z06's heated then as well but the ambient temps were around 113 and track temps much higher. I was driving an m7 and it heated and had reduced power and the power steering overheated an went out. Once I shifted to a higher gear it cooled off and ran fine as long as I kept it in the higher gears. Fwiw we all were running the a/c on all of the runs.

Yeah I wanted to do the 3 day course and they told me I had to take the course within one year of purchasing the car and they couldn't guarantee I'd be able to do that. I took the 2 day and really enjoyed it but would have been a lot better satisfied if the cars had done their part.

I'm talking about the Level 3 course, which they have on their website, and talk about at the debrief after Level 2. But haven't had on their schedule from pretty much all of 2015 and the beginning of 2016.

Yeah they told me if I took the 3 day then I'd probably be able to take the level 3 next but if I took the 2 day probably not. Once I ran into the overheating I didn't pursue it.

Turn 12!
I was there earlier in the year and had no issues. I had a Level 1 Z06 with an M7 transmission.
Could A8's be more susceptible to overheating?

I think this says enough. You can only expect so much from these cars. 100 degrees with the AC on is a lot. Cool down should be expected to some extent.

You are correct. It was 100 degrees September 30. A cold front moved in by Oct 3. So why do they have the a/c on for 80 degrees?
