Think about it this way... Look at all the owners that spend 1000s on a set of wheels because they want an upgrade ect... so whats a few hundred when the result is so much better. Getting cold air in and out while blocking radiant heat is key. Why wait for GM. Again its an owners choice and I think its an easy one until GM have a better option that keeps everyone happy.
I agree that is what one can do if the owner is going to track the car. As I also said, GM should also - at a minimum - wrap the cats and modify the air flow which is easy to do.

Maybe you missed my other post - Which do you own - a Z06 or C7 and if a Z06, is it a Z07? Have you tracked it?

Interestingly, those who own a Hellcat enjoy them, those who don't , well don't. Now there is a surprise. Best

That picture is deceiving. Corvette and Viper are virtually the same dimensions. The Viper is a little bit lighter.

What do you guys think?
What am I missing here ? At worst case you could have paid 82K for a Hellcat but instead you paid 83K for a Z06. So you paid more for something that you wanted less. Sure that makes sense.

Of course it makes sense for him to pay a $20,000 ADM that will probably never translate into a resale value increase. Great logic.

It probably WILL translate into a great resale value. The Z06 will depreciate like a rock since they make so many of them. I have a feeling the Hellcat will retain a good chunk of residual value. I could be wrong but I very well could be right.

The only advantage of the hellcat is having a backseat & I'll give it credit , it's easier to get in & out of ! That's it ! Be glad u have ur Vette

Interesting that this week an owner of two blue Hellcats (pristine condition), traded both of them in to a forum dealer to buy a FULLY equipped Z06.

I'd rather have one z06 than 2, or even 3, Hellcats if I was driving them myself.

The forum dealer had to heavily discount the Z06, and now they can make good money on 2 pristine Hellcats.

Great deal for the forum dealer......

I wish I could have/store/afford about 10 cars. If that were the case, a Challenger Hellcat would be one of them. Another Mopar would be a hemi Belvedere.

OP/Stripeknight ....

On another forum (AR15.COM), you state that you are from AK and now on here you are from CA.

When did you move? Gotta be warmer and more time in the Z06.

Let's see a picture of your new ride ........................

One of the most important factors to me for buying a car is that it has to be visually appealing. Personally, the Hellcat Challenger just doesn't do anything for me. For some reason, I do find the Hellcat Charger kind of appealing. The idea of having an extremely fast 4-door really strikes my fancy. Funny how things have changed. Back in the 60's or early 70's I wouldn't have been caught dead in a 4-door. I don't think anyone can deny that they're both very fast cars. I have a good friend who's a die hard MOPAR fan and would never consider owning a Chevrolet. That's okay. We all have different tastes and that's what makes the world go 'round. By the way, you could park the green Viper in my garage any day.

Hellcat is cool for what it is. But my father and I were doing a little road rally in a SRT8 Chally and a C7 Z51 and we kept switching back and forth. The Chally feels so rickity and loose if you hop in it after hammering a C7. We had a strut tower brace on the front and a 4 point brace in the trunk and you could still feel that car twist when you hit bridges going 100+ on the highway, the vette was stiffer than steel!!!

The Challenger is the last of a dying breed. The Mustang and Camaro have pretty much switched to Road race cars instead of Drag strip cars. They've gotten smaller and lighter with way better suspension. Where as the Chally Is big comfortable and fast as hell in a straight line!

To me the Hellcat is a awesome Grand touring car that has serious passing power.
