Facebook Fridays: Which Corvette Would You Pick?
Is it really fair to ask someone to choose between a legendary big block ‘67 and a C7 Z06?

My 69 L71 with 435 horses was awesome. My Z is 10 times more awesome.
Seriously the 69 was the best, but a lot of work too. With solid lifters and tri power you had to be a good wrencher to set the lash constantly and rebuild the center carb as other issues. You think about overheating on the Z's but the big block always wanted to run hot no matter the outside temp.
It's nice to have a world class car and be able to jump in it without worries and have a warranty.

Melting Slicks
Give me the Z06 that outperforms their current European counterparts all day everyday!

Racer
the great looking timeless classic that doesn't look like a supra and is not outdated in a year and worth half the $$'s.

I'll take the 67 big block. Anyone can own a new corvette. Drive it off the lot, 20% depreciation, 4 yrs later a new model comes out. Every year, the 67 goes up in value, and the sound of that motor coming through the side pipes will put a smile on your face every time that you drive it.

C2 vs C7
I have had a half dozen BB solid lifter C2's. In my mind the best Corvette ever built, UNTIL I bought a C7 Z06. They are now in second place on my list. If I had to choose which one I would drive it would be the C7 Z06.

I agree with you except one point. 67's bring less now than they did 10 years ago.

One of each, please. A matched pair in silver and black interior and black tops.

I can't get over the huge awkward gaping maw on the c7. Love the c7 overall but damn. That angle is not doing it any favors.

Burning Brakes
My 66 427 big block will always be missed. The lines, the sound, the shape, the dash and most of all the memories of ownership in a different time. Long forgotten were the associated problems that were not devastating, but associated with multi trips to the dealership.
My new Z06 which has been an exceptional car so far, does not exude the passion of the prior car, but that is probably a result of my aging. It is obvious given the choice must say the Z06 is today's standard of ownership for me.
