...a few more Callaway SC757 Z06 Corvettes and SC627 Stingrays shipping earlier this week. Cars were so fast though, no pics.
(Actually, Plycar came at night... But they are on the way...)

My Batmobile is going to Callaway in November. I'll be driving it up there myself. Taking the train back home to SE PA. Going to be a blast taking the train back up and driving it home. Love the road trips.

I have a 2010 callaway 606 and i need better tires or larger than stock. Please recommend i have to get new rubber anyway! The car is hard to launch without burning rubber.

Hey Chris,
I just finished reading all 12 pages of this thread. Your patience with the never intended to buy crowd is amazing. I think theirs an old story about a fox and some grapes that fits them to the T . My 16' Z06/Z07 is on its way to old Lyme as I post this. Expected delivery date of march 4. What can I expect when I get there to take delivery of my SC757 Z... Do you work out of this facility ? Can I get a tour?
And finally to the naysayers....

I may look into another Callaway. I have an 89 6 speed car that I like better than my 08 z06 by a long shot. Awesome car and I appreciate the continued support for that classic.
As far as the new ones, I would want to track the car. So far no c7 I have seen, driven, or instructed in can make 3 laps around a track. the engine, trans, diff, power steering, torque tube, and brakes all overheat almost instantly on a stock c7 or c7 z06. Does Callaway address those areas in their. C7 packages? Has anyone?
Granted, my 89 can't go all day on track either, and that's not its mission, but my c5 z holds up real well. My ctsv holds up real well too. Just curious.

An instructor in a c7z got a car from stone cold, through one completely mild warmup lap, and made it about 2/3 of one lap before it went into heat limp mode. On a 60 degree ambient day.
Its pretty bad when you cant make 3 minutes at speed. Thats pretty much instant.
All the more shameful since cadillacs engineers bothered to test the ctsv's (this is a few years ago) at bondurant and actually fix the issues. Sure enough, a stock 3800 lb ls2 ctsv could track at 10/10 in 110 degree heat for a full tamk of gas, no problem. I hear, but havent verified, that the high end c5 camaros can go till they run out of gas too.
A stock c5z cant. But can probably go 10-15 minutes. Thats pretty good. A c6z about the same, except the stock brakes wont make 3 laps. And of course the engines blow up.
And a c7z cant make a full lap.
It can be done. Its not hard. Gm just has to care about it. Just a little bit. All it takes is incrementally better cooling systems, oiling and braking systems. But modern corvette durability on track is not a consideration for gm for some reason.

I dont know about harsh. The last track day i instructed at, not one of about 8 c7's there could run for 10 minutes. Even with most of those guys taking it fairly easy.

I do recall they said this car was designed along side the C7.R race car. They did run the car on tracks before and during initial release. I have a feeling the software was tweeked to hold warranty issues.
I still don't know what you mean about overheating a torque tube. Does the torque tube have a sensor on it and when it gets hot it puts the car in limp mode? Sounds silly to me?
