HPDE Wheels/Tires
Since it seems almost impossible to find track tires for the C7 ZO6, what are the options. One vendor suggested going to 18" wheels all the way around. Don't know if they will even fit a ZO6 and if they do, what are the negatives. I only do about 5-6 events a year.

When I was starting out i was asking all these questions too. Looking at wheels tires and slicks etc. In the end, unless you get into it alot and are serious and really pushing it with alot of experience, just go with OEM wheels with super sports. The car does do incredibly well on them. I have tracked on the super sports and the car kicks butt. Even my experienced freinds were blown away. I have my OEM's with Cup 2's sitting around for when I do local track events.
but more directly to your question:
Non-Z07, 18's will fit front and back.
I believe hoosier makes a 295/335 set for 19's that work with our car.
but again, Unless your really trying to squeeze out every second per lap, theres really no need to go to slicks or anything. At most maybe just go to the cup 2's.

Track wheels and tires are a very good option. There is a good variety of wheel and tire option in 18s. Fitment however can be challenging as DIY so it's best to buy a package of wheels and tires from a knowledgeable source (i.e., Tire Rack) who can guarantee fitment. For exampe, 18 wheel rims will not fit on a Z06 with the Z07 ceramic brakes.

Melting Slicks
Find a take off set of OEM Z06 wheels and throw the OEM Michelin PSC2s on them for track days. You can drive to the track and drive home on them, plus you should only have to replace them once per track season and you can find them often for sale here for a good price. When you sell/trade the car you can sell the second set of OEM wheels and get 50-66% of your money back. Keep the MPSS tyres for the street on the original wheels and for wet track conditions.

I got a set of ZR1 wheels, and put my PSC2 on them. Ill move to a CCW setup with Hoosiers next year. if your ready to jump into the Hoosiers call John at CCW, and he will set you up with what your going to need.

Here is my take on it.
You can stay with original sizes and run Cup's or street tires. Regardless you will go through tires much quicker then street driving. Everyone agrees on that, how fast is just dependent on how hard you push the car.
Depending on brand and type replacements are $1200 to $2500 (ballpark)
Many of us track junkies like using the Continental (scrubs) used Slicks with 80% life left for $150ea (aprox). They only come in 18" sizes.
Finspeed makes a custom 18" wheel that clears the Z07 brakes, 18x11 front and 18x13 rear that makes it all work.
Wheels are not cheep, but with enough track days you will save quite a bit on your tire bill, plus the benafit of a sticky tire.
I have LG lowering spindles 1", track alignment, I have no rubbing with Slicks.
