Default PS2's or Super Sports for Z07(for the street)

I'm interested in your guy's opinion. Which are better??? Michelin pilot sport 2's run flats or Michelin super sports zero pressure's for daily use on my 2015 Z07.. I had the ps2's on my C6 z06 and I loved them! Are the new super sports better or no?? I plan on killing the Michelin cup tires first which shouldn't take long. Need to know what to put on after! Please help lol..

Even Michelin acknowledges that the new(ish) Pilot Super Sport is a far superior tyre than the PS2. Better handling in both wet and dry conditions; increased durability; lower noise, and less price. What's not to love?

If you drive it very often I'd go PSS. If it's a weekend warrior I'd go cups. I currently have cups on my daily driver Z07, but only because I couldn't get PSS when it was time to take the snows off.

Best,
Gene

The PSS ZP is the replacement for the PS2 ZP and are far superior in every category. Also, they are cheaper than the PS2 ZP. You will probably have a hard time even finding PS2 ZPs since they've discontinued production in the C6 ZR1 / C7 Z06 sizes

Note: PS2 ZP is not the same as PSC2 ZP which is standard on the C7 Z07

The Michelin PSS is currently the very best "street" tire that you can buy for track or other extreme usage!

either stick with the cup2 or go with the stock Z's pilot SS. the ps2 is old technology and the z was designed around the new tires.

Damn I was hoping you guys were gonna say the opposite! Reason being I allready bought a rear set of PS2's from a fellow member before I did my research. I couldn't pass them up. They were never mounted and I really loved these tires on my C6 Z06!! Plus I got them for cheap!!! Well thanks to those who replied I really appreciate it. I guess I will sell them cheap and go with super sports. Thanks guys!

If your Cup 2's aren't too worn PM me. I'd be interesting in buying them to put them to good use on the track

They have 3 miles on them since I haven't driven the car yet 🙈 I'm waiting to get 3m done. She go's in Wednesday. Can't wait!!! Finally will be able to enjoy her!!!! I don't think I wanna sell the cup's tho. I wanna try them out. I drive hard on the street probably harder than most do on the track!

Either you haven't driven well on the track or you would not still have your license if you drive it on the street like it would be driven on the track.

The PSS are fine street tires that work well on the track, for street tires. The PSC2's are decent track tires that can be driven on the street, but they are not as good on the track as a dedicated DOT track tire like the Hoosier R7. I use PSS for the street and drive my Toyo R888's to the track for track days.

I have pscup2 tires on my C6 Z07. They made it over 12k miles on he street with only a few track laps to do a matrix test on the PTM systems. Great tires from a performance and grip standpoint.

I am waiting for delivery of my C7 Z06. I passed on the Z07 this time because I drive it on the street and the Cup2's were just too loud on long trips..I am hoping the SS on my new car will be quieter!

A flat tire on a busy highway - no love there! Ever see a C6Z get ranked up on a flatbed tow truck with the cables tearing away at the chin spoiler? It ain't pretty.

Strange, just purchased a set of PS2 ZPs from Tire Rack for my '06 Z06 that were built in mid-May 2017.

Flat tires suck. Fortunately I haven't had one in 33 years.

PSS is great for the street. I love them on my Z07 and am on my second or third set. Friends don't let friends drive Cups on the street. PS2 is fine I'm sure but may as well use what the car was engineered for.

Best,
Gene

I wasn't happy with Cups on the street. Their ride quality is more harsh than the super sports. They also balance like **** with huge variations between tires. Ended up buying a second set of wheels to run super sports for the street, and I'm keeping the Cups for track events.

Just replaced my PS2 ZP's with MPSS ZP's on my C6. Really liked the PS2's and got about 20K miles out of them. Have only driven the MPSS tires about 1K so far but they feel as good or better than the PS2's. Also, the MPSS ZP's were less expensive than the previous PS2 ZP's even though about five years had lapsed between purchases.
