Default Rear spoiler question.

I had my friend's stage 2 aero in my garage sitting right next to my stage 1. It sure looks like it would be simple to upgrade from 1 to 2 with a purchase of the large "wicker bills." Is it this simple or am I missing something? I thought I read somewhere that's it's a completely different setup, but it looks the same to me, minus the larger wicker bills.

Thanks for the help fellas.

Based on the information I got from the forum and supplier when purchasing the stage 2 parts (my car hasn't arrived yet so I couldn't tell you for sure if it's true) it's a simple bolt on job.

Yes it is. The base spoiler is the same for all stages.

Yep, my ordered 16 is an S1 and I'm either going to just add the 2 larger parts or replace the entire thing with a real carbon fiber one. I've got some time to shop and decide.

Did you get the stage 2 winglets only?

I just replaced my Stage 1 rear spoiler with a Stage 3 spoiler. My wife helped the tricky part with the rubber grommets. It looks great now.

looks great. I ended up buying the winglets only straight from Cultrag. They have a 10% discount this weekend. Shipped for $165.

Is the star tool something standard, or specific to GM? Anyone know if it's included with the winglets?

Ask your dealer not to install the Stage 1 winglets. They are attached by double-sided tape as well as torx screws. That makes them a little harder to remove and leaves glue residue when they're removed.

The star screw driver is standard. You can get it at any hardware store. I already had one in my power screw driver bits from Black and Decker.

It's a #15 if you need to buy one

You've captured the rear spoiler difference between aero one and two. The front splitter on stage 2 is more aggressive than stage one. It also has very small winglets, compared to those that come with aero three.

So, I got the screws out. Any tricks for the double sided tape, besides pulling really hard? I'd rather not break anything.

Either fishing line or strong dental floss. Work it back and forth to saw through the adhesive layer.
