Always nice to see somebody who can work a stick shift. Great shifting.
And what a beautiful track. Gonna have to add a bucket list item to go drive that track.

Former Vendor
Tube framed Miata. It kinda looked like the love child of a miata and an arial atom. We did some dyno pulls on it before that event.

Agreed. A lot of those cars looked like they were out for a Sunday drive. Looks like you were pushing pretty hard though. Why so little footage of Sector 1? I would think that would be my favourite part of the track.

Great Stuff!
I'm guessing you were on the Super Sports, which, is essentially on par with those cars and their stock tires!
But, things are forever evolving:

Sub 7 minute Ring times are looking to be more common place in the near future. Thank you VW/Lamborginia for dropping the gauntlet!

For those who still lament the street race misadventures of the new Z06, see where the car was really meant to shine: Track Days.
It was the first day ever at Circuit of the Americas in Austin for myself and my new C7 Z06. But even with street tires, the Z still manages to take down some heavy hitters.
Can't wait to see what it can do with R compound tires, track alignment, and a little more seat time!

You show respect for your car. You are driving like an endurance driver, making the car last. Smooth, yet fast with momentum and great lines.
That track is amazing. As another post said - on my bucket list now!

I would agree if they came out of the corner side by side and got on the throttle at the same time.
The problem is, the 650s exited the corner and began accelerating well before the OP in this scenario. It may "appear" to pull the Z06, but since it began accelerating well ahead of the Z06, you cannot use this as a measurement of "pulling" another car.
If the cars were exactly equal in weight and power, and the same scenario occurred, the lead car would appear to "pull" the trail car as you suggest in this post.
Excellent first time driving at the track OP!

Don't be that guy.
HPDE is not racing, and most of the guys who show up are there to have fun and drive home the shiny car they arrived in.
