2016 warranty?
I, as well as many others, have been hearing that on the 2016's the power train warranty is going to be lessened. Does anyone KNOW THIS FOR SURE?

and they verified it also said that it affects all 2016 vehicles not just the corvettes. I also checked the internet and went to GM News. GM said that the 5yr/100k warranty was not a major factor in the customer purchase of their vehicles so GM decided to lower it to 5yr/60K miles. Also the 2 year service maintenance will be reduced to 1 year. The 3yr/36 bumper to bumper warranty will stay in effect.

The free maintenance was a gimmick from the beginning. It was done by other manufacturers but it isn't a big deal. With current maintenance intervals all that meant was two or three oil changes over a two year period. Personally, I would just like them to reduce the price of the car by the cost of the two or three oil changes and let me pay for them when I come in for service.

OK, that sounds good. So a 100K policy is available? I doubt it will apply to me because I don't think trading into a 16 is going to happen, but I dd my car as I did my 11 GS, it had 90K on it in 3 years when I was hit by a hit and run driver. I'm just toying with the idea for now. I'm just considering an A8. I've got a M7 trans because that was all that was available when I bought my Z. Thanks for the info.

Not a big deal. GM just got in line with other manufacturers. Very few GM Customers came close to getting 100K miles in 5 years and very few Corvette Owners will come close to driving 60K miles in 5 years.

True but that costs me more money. I liked the convenience of 100k miles powertrain warranty personally.
Even on my 2008 Tahoe I had transmit ion completely brake on me that was covered under powertrain warranty in 2011 (had 40k miles warranty expired but powertrain 100k was in place to save my azz).
Just my opinion. To some this may not matter but I like extra free features especially with Chevy when I know that I had previous trans issues.
I still own my 08 Tahoe but I m picky and that 100k powertrain warranty is important and will be a deal breaker where I will buy my Tahoe replacement. (Some Imports (Toyota Nissan Honda) may still offer this warranty so I may shop there just because of that additional warranty)
Personal preference I guess
