Default Seat coolers (3LZ) not working properly

Have been doing some top off driving recently and can tell that the seat coolers are not working properly (driver and passenger) . Anyone else have this issue crop up? Any trouble shooting I can do?

Maybe if you were more specific about what is wrong?

With the top off would be hard to tell if they work or not with all that air rushing through your..... hair.

I don't think they actually "cool," but rather blow surrounding air through perforations which feels cool compared to sweaty back on leather. Its not like the seats get cool to the touch.

Agreed, they list them as "Heated and Vented" seats.. I don't believe they "cool"

I once test-drove a Navigator (10 years ago) that had actual cooled seats. They were amazing.

My wife's Escalade seems to have some kind of heat exchanger, because it kicks out some serious heat out the back of the seat when it's on. I'd be surprised, though not very, if they used a different mechanism between the Cadillac and Corvette.

No LOL the seats are not "cooled" they are ventilated. Believe me if they were not you could not stay in them for a 16 hour trip!

The cooled seats are in other GM vehicles such as my 2014 Sierra Denali 4x4. THOSE things will freeze your rear and back!! Just the ticket for Texas summers.

Correct. It is just two fans that blow ambient air through the seat and back. Nowhere does Chevy claim they "cool", rather they "vent".

They only push the surrounding air into the seat, so unless the cabin is cold you will not feel the "cooling" from the seat. Even if you don't necessarily feel the cold it should reduce the back sweat etc.

I usually put the A/C to cool both the top and feet to push some of the cold air below the seat, then you can start feeling the cold. It takes some time however.

With the top down/off, keep the A/C set to LO and on your feet only. This will get cold air down to the fans. I do this all the time and it's the best way to get the vented seats going.

Cold air is heavier than warm air. That is why it is colder at the bottom of your refrigerator. With the top up or top on, the fans below the seat collect the cooler air and blow it through the perforated seat. To make the seat even cooler, direct the a/c downward to provide more cool air for the fans to blow up.

I had these on my IS250 and RX350. To get actual cool air on your butt, you had to blast cold A/C at your feet. It was actually awesome in the summer to roll around with all the windows and sunroof open while staying cool in the seat.

Yep just 2 fans in the back and 1 under the seat circulate air. They are similar to computer fans...
