Slicks for C7 Z06 on track days

What are all of your thoughts about this?
Are slicks available?
If so, where would they be purchased?
Would you need new rims too?
Would this even improve performance?

Here's the answer to at least part of your question: (to do a proper learn, you will need an MDI or similar, and a TPMS activation tool)
Addendum to the above... As our TPMS are made by Schrader (I'll post one of my pics from swapping tire and wheels yesterday), but the Schrader magnet does not work, as Bill assumed.
The EL-50448 is the cheapest tool for activating the 125kHz learn circuits, so long as you have the proper tools as stated before (MDI/J-2534/GDS2).
For those without such tools, a dealer visit will be required. I don't think anyone would buy a $1000-$1500 tool for just this, but it's nice if you have one.

Slicks are measured differently than DOT tires. They come with tire width in mm first, followed by diameter in mm and then rim size in inches. A 325/680/18 tire is equivalent to a 325 mm wide, 26.7 in diameter 18 inch tire or in other parlance ~ 325/35/18.
You can get reasonably good traction on a used tire with lots of life for $100/tire. Tire pressures might be an issue with the C7 TPMS since you start with cold pressures in the low 20s. At Sebring last year I was running 22 front and 20 rear cold pressures and at VIR I found that 2 psi all around worked better. The first session in the morning the car wanders around a lot until the pressures come up.

Addendum to the above... As our TPMS are made by Schrader (I'll post one of my pics from swapping tire and wheels yesterday), this magnet may work in conjunction with an MDI or equivalent. I will be buying one to test with since I, too, need to do a relearn.

Edited my previous post with results - Bill was correct regarding the magnet. Though Schrader claims that their magnet will work, I started a re-learn a few hours ago with zero success.
I ran with mixed-up TPMS sensors today (after getting the wheels/tires swapped over), and while I didn't get a light, the readings were incorrect (as expected).

I would like to know as well how close we have to stay with the oem tire diameters?

I'll save tons of money too using these tires. Already went through a few sets of Michelins at $2k per set.

Do you have any links for what I should purchase (exactly)? I'll go ahead and order. I can drive to laguna seca from my house on the slicks. It's only a few miles away .

i bought the Finspeed F110 (they are the F11's with 10 spokes instead of 11, saves weight) I did the RT option (-1 lb per wheel). I also did the knurled beat set because they are my track only wheels. I had them finished in ceramic satin bronze. Finspeed also provided and installed the TPMS sensors and mounted the Hoosiers R7's. 18x13 rear w/ 345/35/18 and 18x11 fronts w/ 315/30/18. Hope this helps. Here are some pics too.
Gorgeous!

thanks! it's a beast at the track. American racing headers and cat less x-pipe, halltech cknz intake and tune. I also added caravaggio stage 2 splitter and side skirts and had some custom made carbon fiber stage 2 wiglets for the rear. She is putting out about 750 HP and 775 tq. :yes nod: was the fastest thing at the track last week
