Default Previous Stingray Owners chime in

Alright so i bought my car new at MSRP back in April of 14. I love the thing and don't regret buying it a bit!

I can afford a Z06 is the problem and i find myself lusting after one more and more.

Yes i know its the Never will be happy syndrome i almost find myself feeling guilty of thinking about upgrading to a Z.

So is it really worth the cost ?!? 30-35k on top of what i can get out of my 14 for the car i would get. Ive yet to be able to drive one. But being at Spring mountian and hearing a Z at WOT right next to me really considering it.

I mean do they feel like two different vehicles all together or the same just with more power ?

Im crazy and you guys are my support group

I did this exact thing, along with several others. Took delivery of my Laguna Blue Z51 in October of 2013, then delivery of my Laguna Blue Z07 in December of 2014.

Fortunately my dealership made me an exceptional deal on my trade in, so the decision wasn't too difficult.

Both cars are fabulous, and I would be happy with either. The Stingray is great. However, the Z06 does everything better. The power difference is ridiculous. But to me it sounds better, drives better, looks better.....it's just a big improvement across the board.

If it's in the budget, and something you want....then go for it! You will not be disappointed.

OP, I've been down the same road you're on. If you want it and can do so without creating financial hardship, then go for it. The longer you wait, the harder it gets.

A little different for me. I had a deposit down on a 2014 Stingray and the Z was revealed...Once I saw it it was game over for me so I took my deposit back and waiting a year for the Z. There are no words that can explain this car! I do know I would be kicking myself if I had a stingray right now...Especially when a Z rolls up next to me! Dont get me wrong, the Stingray is an awesome car...The Z is just something else altogether! IMO...Good luck with your decision!

I bought a 13 C6 GS 30 days before the C7 was going to be available and knowing I would eventually want a C7. Between end of year discounts, USAA, and GM I saved almost 19K off MSRP....Great Deal. Every time I see a C7 I wish I had one. Don’t get me wrong I love my C6 GS, but the C7 is such a great car. Now flash forward to the C7 Z06....OMG....What a great car. The only thing I want as much as a Z06 is Jennifer Lawrence, but thats for a different blog...LOL I know how you feel and would go for it or you will regret it in the long run. All my wife wants is for me to pay off the C6 before getting a Z06, so I am doubling down on payments. Next year this time I will be looking for a 16 or place a early order on a 17. I hope you can get yours sooner than that if you do decide to upgrade. In the mean time enjoy the C7...Zoom...Zoom

Default Went from a 14 c7 to a 15 Zo6

Couldn't be happier, it was a very costly move though.

Move up. The z does everything better and for stock it's a beast and doesn't need anything added. The stingray is a great car, but after you drive a Zo6 the stingray feels like a dog and really slow(not really slow, but after driving a zo6 it feels that way).

Default Sold my 2014 Z51 Stingray, Looking for a 2015 Z06

Oh my God!!! Is this the Z06 obsession support group? I sold my 2014 Stingray telling myself to wait 6 to 12 months to find a used Z06 for less than $80k. I have been trolling this forum, ebay, and every place for Z06 pics and info.

I am losing it. I can afford to buy it but when I think of all the other investments I could make, it gives me pause. I found a Z06 at the best price and it has all the options I want. I have a deal in place and am second guessing the purchase thinking if I could just wait til December...

I don't think I'll make it.

Oh boy you do sound just like me

How good of a deal did you find ? I feel like if I could get 2-3 k off msrp I would pull the trigger right now.
Otherwise I'm going to just wait it out till this fall and go slightly used or a new 16

No one only driving their Corvette on the street or as a daily driver needs a ZO6. BUT ... if it is not a financial burden you will never regret buying the ZO6 !!!

They are that awesome !

I found one for $85k delivered to my doorstep (does not include tax n title), MSRP for it with all its options is $89k. Coupe, M7, 2LZ, Aero 2 package, PDR, Nav, Hood Stinger...It has the exact color scheme I want and has tinted windows and xpel clear installed on 70% of its body.

I had a 2015 Stingray Z51 for three months until I got the Z in December.

The Stingray was a giant leap over the 2012 GS I had before, but the Z06 is fantastic. I admit that I upgraded to 3LZ over 2LT and that is part of it, but the performance and aesthetics were worth the extra 30K or so.

I loved them both but two different machines...

My Stingray ... Torch Red ... Love TR ... its my favorite ... there are so many of them ... Great car M7, missing the full BEAST of the Z06.

My Z06 (DSOM only 1% of us like the color )... More of a Beast! If money is not an issue - its a great car - super happy with the upgrade between the two. But both GREAT cars and fun to drive.

Default Supercharging my stingray

I'm getting the 624 HP package from Lingenfelter. It's a more affordable way to get Z06-like performance.

Dealer by me has a white 2LZ for $3200 off MSRP near Chicago. Had it for over a month now on showroom. M7 tho. I want an Auto in 16 with new two tone interior. But car is really nice and looks to be nice deal without even haggling yet.

I really loved my 14 Z51 Stingray, I picked it up in December 2013. I was going to add a supercharger, and wider wheels and tires. But I waited until the prices was released on the Z06's before I did anything to the car. I really like the wide body, had a 07 Z06, and a 12 Grandsport. I ordered my Z06 in November and picked it up in December. I traded up for less than 20k difference, it was a no brainer for me. The Stingray was a great car, but the Z06 is so much better, to me. The torque, and the sound in track mode is insane..
