Factory front license plate bracket
#2
Good luck with your post. I tried the same post about two months ago & got only people saying they NEVER would put a front plate on & would just pay any fine ! This is NOT an option for me as I live a TWO plate area & live about two blocks from a police station. I have a '32 ford Hot Rod & tried only back plate. I was stopped so many times they tried to impound my car. I gave up & put a front plate on.That's my rant. Someone please post pictures of FACTORY PLATE bracket on the car !

The OEM bracket for Z06 would be good if it was a quick disconnect like the one in the You Tube video but apparently that bracket only works on the Stingray. Need a quick disconnect for shows and the track.

Me too, once in 10 yrs. 99% of cops won't give you a ticket for a front plate on a nice sports car. If they do they're A$$holes. Running a front plate on a Vette is ridiculous.

Mine came with 2 front mounts one is for your license plate the other for the Corvette plate/cover. I didn't like the correct front plate one because it sits high and overlaps your front bumper. So I used the Corvette plate one with some adjustments.

My Z06 is still in transit so I don't know about the Z06 mounts.
My C7 Stingray came with 2 plate mounts 1 that 3m'd taped to the upper bumper and 1 that GM called an Aero plate. GM said the Aero plate , which mounts in the grill, would be to low for some state laws to mount the plate on.
I did use the Aero plate mount, Leo's are happy to see a front plate and do they really know what the minimum height requirements are for plates.
I'm assuming that GM is doing the same with the Z06 plate mounts. From the pics I have seen the Aero plate seems to be more trimmed for the Z06 than the Stingray mount.

Hi UTZ06, Can you explain to me how you mounted your front license plate on your Z06 grill - I just changed my Stingray Grill for a Z06 Grill and none of bracket fit. Much needed help here, Thank you.

Front plate mounting
Try (online) Top Flight Reproductions for mounting and custom painted frames; Anthony and his organization are indeed, Top Flight!

I saw a Z06 at a car show in Chanhassen Mn on Saturday.
There was a newer Z06 there with the front license plate fastened to the grill with zip locks.
Functional, but not very classy.

Although my temp tag doesn't expire for another month I decided to go ahead and install my Route 66 theme tags this morning because the temp tag is looking pretty worn. I was prepared to spend some time removing parts to install the Top Flight Reproductions front plate holder but with level 1 aero the two fasteners I needed to access were already exposed. Maybe 10 minutes total to install the bracket, license plate, and plate frame and that included grabbing the necessary nut driver and screw driver.

Best of luck with that Jay...........in my 1st try (after an almost 3 hour wait in the Braintree Registry, my plate came in 2 months later as FUN 206. Then after another 2+ hour wait in line I returned the plates and requested FUN Z06, and 2 months later got the FUNZ0 6 I have now. Jim.
