Default Walking funny today after tax title and license...

How bad did everyone get hit for?

$3k here but then again i had to pay a penalty of $400 since i didnt register within 30 days of buying, i wasnt driving the car and was in storage so figured no harm no foul... was hit hard with that extreme charge for letting it sit in the garage. ended up being $3463 total No wonder why so many people use the montana LLC loophole for high end cars

I think CA has the highest sales tax rates--up to 10% depending upon the county...
and if I'm not mistaken, no reduction in taxable value for vehicle trade-ins...

here in Texas the state sales tax rate is 6.25% on vehicles, after any trade-in allowance.

Paying under 4k. That was with a trade allowance of 36k. That is nothing compared to my property taxes of 17k.

Do you have annual excise/property tax in TX? (May end up moving to Dallas at some point)

I paid............

zero dollars. Well, I guess technically $60 for registration.

Thank you military for letting me remain an Alaska resident while living in Florida!

Though for me, this was an important part of how I could afford to buy this car to begin with.

Now to get Alaska to pay me my dividend for the year

Boooo...you lucky dog. I lost that deal as soon as I retired. Let me tell you...Alaska's got it going on!! This is my first time in 16 years paying tax on a car and it...SUCKS!!! Especially in NV. LOL Not quite enough lube to stop this burn. :-( Keep that residency as long as you can!!!!

I walk with a skip 4 years plates and title and no sales or personal tax CRAP! 280.00 for 4 years. When and if you sell the tags gom with the car no other charge but a 10.00 transfer.

Best in the country for nice cars!

Wow, and I thought New Jersey was bad.
One time sales tax of 7% and maybe $200.00+ in title/registration fees.
Delaware is even better yet (like some of you above), NO sales tax at all I believe.

You probably don't care but just for you to feel better:

in France we have to pay for the Vette 8000 euros for pollution tax + 2800 euros for plate number ('grey card') + an annual tax of 160 euros... not speaking about gaz prices which is twice compare to US

;-)
