It amazes me that there are still people that don't own the C7 Z, or have any experience with it that still troll these forums. I sometimes browse through the C6 ZR1 forum and even though I prefer the C7, I still appreciate and like the ZR1. But, I would never imagine posting up garbage to bash or discredit the ZR1 in their forum! And I definitely would not go into a Viper forum and create an account with a Corvette as my avatar! I don't know how many more real life reviews (by owners) we have to see before the trolls realize that maybe the Z really is THAT good. For every negative review ( overheats, pulls timing, blah blah) there are probably 20 stellar reviews of the car.

Read the above to see how the Z06 peforms on track. Read entire article. The Z06 is impressive.
As for those who bash other cars, I find it humouous as someone owning several marque's that no matter what car you own there is something "wrong" with the other guys car. This is on the Ferrari, Porsche, Mclaren, etc. forums. Human nature appears to be such that we need to "feel" we have the best. Trust me, there is always another "level" of life. I once read a science fiction piece succiinctly saying the 30th century was controlling those below and they thought they "rule" the world, only to find out there was a 40th century controlling them. Best

But for what is worth, the Z06 was mainly picked due to the performance per value (price) factor...without that, it would have been the P-car all the way. The Corvette is usually the less expensive unit during these type of comparison. The new Z is nice, but...
Your love for the Z has been noted and well documented...but come on man... carving out sustance due a magazine(s)? Really bro?
Personally, I like all cars, and I carve out my opinions from real world results from real people; not based on what some paid magazine yahoo says.
Thanks,
Carlos

You seriously over-estimate your level of wit.
On corvette forum, tires are meaningless. GM put Cup2's on the Z07 just because they look cool.
The usual stupid magazine quotes. What is "twice as good" exactly? Just like magazines that say "you must spend a million dollars to equal the Z06" which fell horribly on its face. The point is, the Turbo-S came out clearly as the better car in their points system and only "lost" once the price factor was added. It's their magazine article and opinion.
Mero driving a VIR tweaked Z06 with a GM team versus a magazine guy doing a few laps in a 918. Exactly the same thing.
And people wonder why they CF gets made fun of. You wouldn't hear something that stupid on any other car forum.
I think I'll add a picture of the new RS to this thread so that CF members can vomit over it's hideousness:

And how do know Mero's Z06 was "tweaked"? Making up stuff to try and prove a point is just silly. I think most here would agree that a 918 on a full battery charge will be faster than a Z06 around any track (with similar talent in the driver's seat).

Who cares what magazines have to say - take it to black top!

But you're probably right. I rely on "some paid magazine yahoo" rather than "real world results from real people".
The 991 TT is not twice as good, as the article stated. It's better in some areas, not as good in others.

As far as magazine reviews, can't have it both ways. If the Motor Trend review gets play (and lends credence to the bashers), then the Car and Driver review should get equal play (which lends credence to the fans).
Furthermore, if you truly "carve out" your opinions using "real world" results from "real world" people, you might want to research Snorman's (Sean) experiences on track. BTW, he owns a Porsche TT, just so you know.....Bro

It's interesting that C7 General is actually pleasant these days, all the trolls got bored and moved on or moved to C7 Z06!!!!

If you think GM showed up with Mero with the implicit goal of setting a great time at VIR and the car wasn't gone over with a fine tooth comb/setup and tons of laps, you are extremely naive.
So a vendor can't speak his opinion and state the 911-Turbo-S is the better car as did Car and Driver? You people are hilarious.
This place is going to get real entertaining when the summer heat hit's the Z06.

As far as a vendor speaking his opinion, that's fine with me. He went beyond stating the Porsche was the better car, FWIW, I think the 991 TTS is a "better" car also. I don't know why C&D didn't test the Z06 against a 911S which is close to the same price. Then, the Z06's price advantage is gone and the "BEST" car wins. Back to the vendor, I was pointing out it may not be the smartest thing to do, in retrospect, it actually may be brilliant to talk up some problem and then offer a fix for it.

I don't know what your definition of "tweaked" is but mine is something that is NOT stock. Going over the car with "a fine tooth comb" is not "tweaked" in anyone's world but yours.

In a recent Top Gear episode, Ferrari refused to let them use a customer spec car. It had to come from Ferrari and of course set up with many advantages for Ferrari.
Mclaren did not want to run at Top Gear's track because they tested their P1 there and knew that the tight corners would favor the Porsche 918's all wheel drive system.
GM isn't anything like these companies but still, setting up the car for a track does wonders. Follow any race weekend and see how much proper car set up can contribute to the result.
Cheers

Me, I'm waiting for all the people who commented on cheap and ugly spats that have no place on a 100K car to chime in with same comments on similar body parts on 180K car.
