Default New "Ask Tadge" Poll Up

Hey folks -

This week's "Ask Tadge" poll is up! Bear in mind that I think the most interesting question for the week is still the Motor Trend comparison between the Z06 and the GT-R as I think something smells amiss. But, let's see how the votes pan out!

I doubt he'll actually answer it though. He's very good about being quite verbose while not actually giving any useful information.

Also, why does something smell amiss in the comparison? Do you have a legitimate complaint about how the test was conducted, or are you just upset that the C7Z was slower? Not trying to be a d1ck, I honestly want to know why you think it wasn't legit.

So a passive-aggressive insult at Tadge isn't being a dick? I see.

Do some more research and read some of the other threads in the "Ask Tadge" section. Maybe you'll start understanding what I mean by something smelling amiss. There's lots of evidence that Nissan may have cheated (and Motor Trend may have been complicit in it), but we'll have to wait to see what Tadge has to say about it.

If you need me to spoon-feed it to you, let me know.

How's that for passive-aggressive?

The second comment was directed at you, not him. No need to get sensitive. I asked your opinion, not his. Do you think something smells amiss, and if so, why? Do you think Tadge would have the answer as to if Nissan cheated? If so, it would be public information, not something that only GM knows. It's not like we can garner any more information on Nissan from Tadge that isn't already available. I'm not being passive-aggressive towards Tadge. I'll straight up say I don't think he gives honest answers ever. It's his job to market his baby, so I don't blame him in the slightest. That doesn't mean I have to like what he says though.

I'm sorry you got your panties in a bunch, but you don't need to be offended at everything.

I think it's great that MT has to find a car almost twice the price to run against the Z06 and it can only barely edge it out "maybe".

And since when is talking like a ******** not been allowed on this forum?

I'm not offended in the least; certainly not by the likes of you. Enjoy your Friday and weekend; I'm done discussing this with you as I have significantly better things to do.

Then why would you say something smells amiss and then not say what that actually is?

Do you or do you not think that the test was legit? If not, why?

It's really a simple question

jvp,

For a future week's question:

Could an additional cooling accessory such as a larger radiator; a secondary engine oil cooler, or a combination of the above be produced by the Corvette team and sold by Chevy dealers? If this could be sold and installed by the dealership, warranty would be retained.

I bet that GM could develop and sell this for about $1000-$1500 plus install?

Thanks for considering the above.

Post it up and ask it yourself. If enough interest is generated, we'll send it in to him. Though I'm not sure you'll like the answer as a few other guys have already stated here in this section of the forum: there isn't a heck of a lot of room to work under the hood.

The NISMO is only half as much more. And no, it was a sound defeat.

Just so happens if the NISMO GTR shows up tomm at Road atlanta we will have a good rematch. I got told yesterday that a atlanta driver is suppose to be bringing one out to the track event with us tomm. Can't wait to redo this comparo. Something just didn't sound right. When Randy was at Rd ATL back last fall he was nothing but all joy about how the car handled and the power. Then he travels out west (maybe they gave him bad wine the night before or something) and he blast the corvette's handling ability. He would of been better off just saying the NISMO won and not bashing the corvette. I really like Randy and have actually done a few road events with him. But something just doesn't smell right about this test.

At last count there were 12 GTR's coming to our track event tomm Im sure I will have a large target on my back.

That would imply that the Corvette was broken though, not that Nissan cheated. The first time he drove it he didn't have anything to compare it to though. I don't think Randy is talking about the C7Z in a vacuum, he's talking about it compared to the Nismo. The C7Z handles great, but when compared to the Nismo, it might just not be as good. It's all relative. Compared to 99% of the other cars in the world the C7Z handles amazingly, but compared to the Nismo, it might be a bit worse.

As the viper fan boys and trolls say with near religious fervor 'HE'S a PROFESSIONAL!' He shouldn't need anything to compare it to to give a valid review, or so is preached to us great unwashed in C7Z06 by our more enlightened, less biased 'betters'.

"Do you have a legitimate concern..." So right from the start any concern is illlegitimate until our troll community graces it with authenticity?

You guys dribble **** through near every post and then wonder why people get annoyed at the incessant...yes incessant horseshit tracked through this forum.

I do agree that he is a professional, but day to day, things change.

So I guess I'll ask you then. Do you think the test was fishy, and if so, why? What would make Randy say that? Do you think Nissan paid him off? Do you think that GM delivered a broken car? I don't mind talking about it, so let's talk. Why do you think it wasn't a legit test? There's no trolling with this question, I'm just interested in your opinion.

Let's see, perhaps not exact words but certainly the gist. 'too sharp throttle..." Really? I guess GM needs to add some artifical turbo lag to the throttle. "Tr was beating me up..." WTF? This was a test of the car, not Mr. Pobst's derriere comfort level. "Mid corner oversteer...I had to depend on the electronics..." Really? Not exactly what I'd expect from a professional driver. Not to say this is the only mention of such behavior in the mountain of data already published on this car. Have YOU seen any other mention of this? Have any of the pro-level, near pro-level or highly experienced drivers that have driven the car and who are posters on this forum ever mentioned anything like this? I'm still waiting for the pictures of bruised backsides and backs from driving in Tr mode.

Exactly. It doesnt make sense when you take into consideration what he said when he drove a Z06 @ Road Atlanta. I remember him saying this car could handle another 100hp because it was that balanced. And now its the other way around?

Something is definitely not right.
