I understand the taller tire to keep from shifting to 5th, but have you considered a 305/35r19 as it's the same height yet lighter and narrower offering quicker acceleration/less rolling resistance?

Good times! I live in Florida and can attest to the heat. On hot days my TVS 2300 C6 would feel sluggish compared to cooler weather. Notice how I didn't say cold? Hah
One thing in regards to tire height. Not bashing anything, anyone, or what they say with this and I know every little bit can be analyzed......etc but let's think on this.
A tire is only "that size" when it is new. Lose 1/4 inch of tread top and bottom.and you essentially have a 1/2 inch difference is tire height throwing off the co.outer slightly. 1" in my eyes isn't going to hurt much if at all. I found with some cars that having a slightly taller tire aided with not spinning quite as much and holding the gear out a little so it didn't have to shift into another great the 1,287 foot mark. Lol
Carry on and keep us posted with combinations that give the best times.

BUT there is only a very small percentage of US that can drive a manual ZR1/Z06 to maximum potential. I ran 10.69 in my ZR1 with 300 miles on it. I don't think anyone has beaten that time at a FL track especially at Orlando Spinworld!
I will know more after another trip to the track.
Thanks,
Jason

Maybe a small percentage of US citizen that own zr1's and take them to drag strip and race them. And an even smaller percentage that race them in Orlando.
So, without quite a bit of practice your not going to get the max out of the car with a manual but if you have the time, $, and interest and own own such a car and race it often many can run it well.

At this time it seems like it would be difficult for the c7Z with drag radials in either manual or auto to match Bruce's best et of 10.2x in a stock Zr1.
It's still early and we need more experienced racers in great air giving us data but there's a lot to makeup.

Scraping the splitter.
Considering Jason's 10.69 was in ~-250' DA at a marginally prepped track (lane?) and the ZR1 time was run in ~-1800' DA, in the sun, at MIR on an obviously well-prepped track, I 'think' that delta is going to shrink considerably.
There is clearly a reason for these rentals scheduled at Atco, MIR and Cecil in December, March and other prevailingly cold months. It's the high likelihood of great weather. I'd like to see some side-by-side racing.

I've got miles on my car now and hoping to get it to OSW a few times over the next few weeks. Weather is not very good in Florida now, but I have run all of my cars in crummy air at some point or another.

There may be a 'ray' of hope on Saturday with a high of only 70...

Nice ! Congrats on great runs.
Second a8 zo6 I am aware of with quarter mile results. Both Only for drag radials ? Did you feel the stock tires were going to be a waste of time at the strip ? So much torque combined with the inability to slip the clutch manually mandate drag radials on these cars ?
Congrats again !
