MGW flat stick vs. std
has anyone with the old standard mgw shifter been able to try the new flat stick? What is the difference and which one do you like more?

I don't believe there will be any difference in the way they shift. The flat stick is for looks. The billet "flat" arm can be purchased in different colors depending on the look you're after. It only works with the aftermarket shift *****.
If you want the stock look you can't use the flat stick.
The MGW shifter is the must have mod for the M7 cars. How many mods make you smile every time you drive the car? They are a joy to drive and make the M7 much more fun to use.

I just installed the MGW flat stick in my Z06 today. It took me about 2 hours, and I followed the instructions found on the forum and watched the videos on MGW's site.
All I can say is wow! It is so precise, and such a joy to use. The closest analogy I can think of is to compare it to a rifle bolt - there is an effortless precision.
I was actually really surprised at the sheer difference in quality between the stamped steel piece I removed and the MGW.

What are everyone's thoughts about if you were to encounter transmission issues with the MGW shifter installed. You think GM would void the warrenty?
Reason I'm asking is im interested in getting one, thanks!!

I bought the grey MGW/white ball. they all look good. If I had a red interior Id think red but I have a black interior and DSOM so a little clash for me.

Yes I have red interior. Two pieces and It is hydro dipped to match stock dash. Ebay and you can make offer, I recommend the barter system, Save a couple hundred that way. Not cheap still but got the front and back with all doors and stuff under $900.

Does it eliminate the vagueness between the 4 to 5 shift and 7 to 6 down shifts?

Going for stock look. Stayed with the original MGW. Stock ball.
2 to 3rd has always slowed me down a bit on Stingray shifter and even found it somewhat sloppy now in the Z I will post thoughts after installing.. I must say I hope it measures up to all the hype!
