Default Driven my Z for 487 miles & I'M SICK OF THE Z06...

BASHERS!!!! I don't usually take time to post let alone start a thread but it's time for me to let out some pent up frustrations

Let me start by saying I currently own (and or have at least driven) almost all of the cars that we all love and compare to the new Z, so I have absolutely ZERO bias or reason for brand loyalty or brand bashing! I could care less who builds what, I just love cars!! I'm not hear to brag, toot my own horn, or seek reassurance, I am however speaking with first hand knowledge a reasonable/experienced opinion of the new Z.

I'm working on breaking my car in as close to the recommended procedure as possible so I have not fully exploited the acceleration of it, however I do have the incredible opportunity of living near
deals gap, aka: The Dragon and I decided on sunday at 310 miles on the clock that I would go on a low rpm semi spirited run through to familiarize myself with the Z.

Let me tell you THIS CAR FAR EXCEEDS MY WILDEST DREAMS OF CAPABILITY THERE !!!!!!!! I recorded a 10 min run from the overlook to the state line with my wife in the car and not exceeding 3800rpms all in one lane with an outside temp of 36 degrees! VERY VERY impressive !!

I realize some people are hurt about the roll racing of this car and I can understand to some degree, but I don't think that's what GM was after with this car and I for one don't think it should be the determining factor for the purchase.

NOW, when I seek a car for purchase there are several criteria I consider crucial ..., other criteria I consider preferred, and some criteria I'm willing or unwilling to live with. That being said, I feel the z06 is one of THE BEST OVERALL CARS THAT CAN BE BOUGHT (WHEN ALL CRITERIA IS FACTORED IN)

I personally like to rate all cars on the same premise and decide how they stack up when picking a car for my personal overall "go to car"

1. overall performance (which means exactly that!) acceleration, braking, handling, fun factor, etc.

2. comfort for more than a 50 mile stint

3. amenities nav, stereo, blue tooth, heated seats, etc etc

4. reliability!

5. wow factor, exclusivity

That being said I feel like the new Z06 meets my personal criteria better than any other car PERIOD ! obviously everyone has there own criteria and NO CAR IS A ONE SIZE FITS ALL FOR EVERYONE BECAUSE WE ALL HAVE DIFFERENT PREFERENCES!

sorry for the long read/rant I feel much better now

now how bout some pics

It's a great car, congrats!!! I think half the issue is how sensitive people are, just because someone points out a flaw or a part of the car they don't like doesn't make them a basher.

People need thicker skin.

The A8 goes to 60 in under 3 seconds and the 1/4 mile in under 11. Seems pretty fast to me. How much faster are you expecting from a rear wheel drive car?

you must admit there is an awful LOT of complaining about one small factor of the cars performance that a simple tune fixes ?

Look, If people want a new C7 roll car so bad they should buy a stingray build the bottom end and add turbos! problem solved!

I personally have a 1500 hp TT Viper if I feel the need to roll race

I didn't decide to buy the C7 Z06 expecting a roll race king and neither should anyone else, It wasn't advertised as that being its specialty
