sad to see this car having heatsoaking issues after only a few runs in frigging winter. If its that bad, This car will suck on a race track on the hotter days.
They shouldve kept the car N/A.

Alright guys. Good and bad news?
Ran the 2014 Viper TA and it pulled on me in 4th gear. Every single time. Z06 has a weak spot after 130mph. We even pulled it to the top of 5th gear and he already had 3-4 cars (atleast) on me by then. And after a few run, huge decline in power because of super charger running hot, like i have been saying.
Awesome videos coming soon right after theyre edited.
how do i embed the image? Damn i have been gone from forums too long. lol

and BTW, car already has 700 miles on it and ive had it for less than 3 days. Used it alright on the streets.

CHIT, this is surprisingly bad news for the C7 Z06, that SUCKS that the supercharger is running hot so quickly and falling on its face after 130 mph, and getting spanked by a new Viper in 4th gear!
Honestly, I am very disappointed to hear this.

If this is the norm for the new Z wait till the summer heat kicks in and see what the owners of the competition have to say

I agree. You can beat on a ZR all day long in those temps.
Ron @ Vengeance is finding some interesting stuff in the stock tune. Appears the IATs may actually be fine, but the stock tune may be pulling timing super conservatively. If that's the case, then it isn't a hardware cooling issue so much as a tuning issue (the latter being a very quick fix, altho warranty impacting which some folks might flinch at).

I do not expect a 650 FI car to beat a comparable powered NA car but at the same time I do not expect the FI car (and especially a corvette) to go into limp mode every time it takes on a worthy competitor

"With the OE calibration we did experience the same thing... The timing tables are EXTREMELY conservative and the ECU will pull timing for almost any situation. I am waiting for owners to complain about "tip in" as the ECU pulls a massive amount of timing when slightly touching the gas pedal.
All that being said, MOST of the loss of power can be addressed in the ECU.. IAT2 temps are actually quite impressive, even after multiple pulls on the chassis dyno. We will get on the highway in the next couple of days and make some back to back "multi gear" runs for comparison sake."

Stock versus Stock -- 0-150mph your c6zr1 should get to 150mph 2 seconds faster then the c7Z06..
This is based upon a zero-150mph time car and driver reportedn night on a 2009 zr1 in December of 2008 and what car and driver reported on a c7z06 with the a8 in its jan 2015 issue.
C&D didn't report on an M7Z06 0-150mph. but the m7z06 was slower in the quarter then the 2009 zr1 and slower than the c7Z06 a8
the M7Z06 was .5 second slower to 150mph then a 2009 c6z06 and nearly equal in the quarter to the c6z-- according to the C&D road test on the c6Z&Zr's from dec 2008 and c7Z06 a8 and m7 in the C&D jan 2015 issue.
I know this is magazine racing, but the OP asked for facts to be reported. This is in print as reported by Car and Driver.

As owner of a '13 ZR1, I had lots of fun driving ZR1's hard at the Spring Mountain course, just outside of Las Vegas. Data was not available for IAT's and timing on the car. However, at no point did acceleration seem compromised. The Spring Mountain cars performed flawlessly, just as my '13 ZR1 does.

Seems strange that GM would tune it to pull timing for no apparent reason. I'm going with GM knowing what they were doing with the tune and they had had a good reason for doing what they did. GM has a lot more experience with the LT4 than any tuner.
