can someone explain the top choices? are the carbon fiber tops transparent on the inside looking out? or is the transparent top the only one?

You cannot see through the Carbon Fiber top.

There are three choices in tops. Standard is a Carbon Fiber top painted in body color. The next, price wise, is the transparent, dark blue Lexan top, which looks almost black from the outside. It adds $995 to the price. The most expensive is the solid Visible Carbon Fiber top. It has been selected for visual quality of the fiber lay down and weave, and covered in a very expensive clear coat. It has additives to protect the Carbon Fiber from UV Rays. Between the clear coat and the rejection rate for visual flaws, the Visible CF top adds $1995 to the price. It also has the sides of the top, just above the side windows painted in body color.

I think the transparent looks the best in my opinion.( That's what I got)
