I have had two GTRs. Currently, I have a C7 Stingray while awaiting my Z06. The C7 Z06 vs the GTR NISMO is a great match up. I believe the Z06 wins a street race against a stock GTR. Good luck finding a stock GTR to race against. If they are willing to street race than they at least have bolt ons with a tune. The Z06 also wins in the fun category. HANDS DOWN. The GTR is more fun to drive in a video game than in real life.

I hope all of you guys waiting for the A8 realize that it won't be as much fun as the M7. Just sayin!

Other than the timing thing. Unless banned by the organization, apps like harry's lap timer have made it very easy and most intermediate and advanced level drivers have timing in their car.

2.95s does that!
Would it bother anyone if the Z07 couldn't outrun the GTR at the longer Ring course? It may be it will be able to walk all over it locally in hot laps or keep up with it on the street just fine, but, not there time wise. It may heat up too much, and may not be getting the investment that the Nismo got for that job.

Default Thanks to Nissan

Rewind to 2008 and the GTR, essentially the same GTR that you can buy today, is delivering incredible performance for the price. Now the z06 has assumed that place in in the market. But we would be ungrateful to ignore the market pressure of Nissan's GTR. The 2015 Z06 would not be the car it is today were Nissan not have produced the GTR.

I wouldn't count the GTR completely out of the horse race. Remember a GTR with some track tweaks called the N-Attack NISMO did a 7:08 at the 'ring and on worse tires than the PC2.

I'd honestly be surprised if the Z06 goes below 7:10 at the 'ring. That's still like a 10 second speed increase over the ZR1.

Huh? Corvettes don't turn heads at all? Apparently you've never driven a Velocity Yellow C6 through a busy/crowded town LOL.
Will it turn as many heads as a bright red Ferrari 458? Of course not.
But please don't try and tell me that Corvettes can't turn heads as I've seen concrete evidence of it.

I agree, but it is not ONLY the Nissan GTR that influenced that.
Others have helped raise the bar/up the ante as well.
600hp Vipers, 530+hp Porsche Turbos, 540hp & 650+hp Mustang Shelby GT500s, 550+hp Mercedes etc.
And let us not also forgot who may have influenced/inspired some of THOSE marques even BEFORE that Nissan ever reached our shores:
2006 Corvette Z06 = 505hp with stellar handling/braking etc.

Those tweaks are an extra +$85K over the already $150K price tag.

My point was the response to the guy that doesn't think GTR's can turn heads and corvettes can. Granted my GTR was quite modified, but it turned heads like a ****. I think only my Lotus Exige turns more heads.

Granted, my Vette when I had it in Germany turned a lot of heads too! It's pretty rare over there, people are just used to Vettes in the states since there are so many of them.
