C7 Z06: Is this the least expensive 200mph new car?
I figure it is but just want to see what everyone else thinks. I don't think hellcat can go 200 even with 700hp due to drag. shelby mustang never got 200mph even w over 600hp either c6 zr1 was over 100k so you could argue viper was a cheaper 200mph solution.... but i think c7 is the cheaper one now...
While we're at it what is the cheapest way to 200mph, new or used? I think even when compared to used cars. c7 z06 still very competitive. I an't think of much any used car that can get 200mph for cheaper. Even used ferrari 550maranello is still more expensive I think and 550 doesn't guarantee you can reach 200 as surely as z06

A "used" 2009 ZR1 is cheaper than a C7 Z06 and will do 205 MPH. While 198 MPH is not 200 MPH, a used C6 Z06 will do that at a very low cost.

Oh I bet the Hellcat can do 200mph just fine.
But has anyone in this thread ever seen 200mph? Track or elsewhere? 150mph is faster than I will ever need to go on the ground.

That "brick" has a Cd of .38 compared to the Z06/Z07's .37 Cd. Of course, that 'brick" does have to punch a larger hole in the air.

It's still amazing that you can get a 200mph new car for well less than 100k. I am waiting for a 200mph car less than 50K, which will happen to 2009 ZR1 in a few yrs?
Drag force is proportional to Cd and Frontal area and I bet that hellcat frontal area is def more than than z06.

Scraping the splitter.
Was it obvious to anybody else that the word "new" was in the title?
I, personally, don't give a crap if a "used" C6 ZR1 or Z06 can go 200 mph. But I guess some people have to try steer the discussion to a car they own to feel better. Same thing happens in the C7 quarter mile threads.

Thank god they are right here by our side on the C7 forums!!
And thanks so much for the insight about used cars being cheaper than new ones. I think you really raised the depth of knowledge on the C7 board by sharing that nugget - maybe the entire CF community.
