Default On Waiting List for Z06

Hello,
I'm on the the waiting list for the new Z06. The dealer said I am number 11 on the list and they will have their allocations for ordering around September. I'm getting the yellow with the Z07 package and the black wheels. I will be selling my 2006 Velocity yellow Z06 if anyone would be interested early next spring or even late this fall. It has two-tone leather with navigation and has 950 miles on it. It is in mint condition. It will be a little over 1000 miles when I sell it as I will drive it a little bit as this summer comes to an end.
Thanks,
John

Default Z06 in the Flesh

Wife and I attended a corvette outing at the IMS last Friday and they had a Z06 convertible there. Incredible. Sort of wish I had waited now!

Yes they do look great. Even though I'm number 11 on the list, the dealer is a high selling Corvette dealership in Western PA so he is anticipating getting quite a few. He said that once they get allocations for order they will begin calling people on the list. When you are called, you must commit to order with a deposit being placed for the order. If you can't commit at that time he will move on to the next person on the list.

Congrats on your decision for a new Z06 !! Hope it works out well.

Your 2006 Z06 should not be too hard to move with mileage that low !!

I might be interested in your new one in nine years, assuming you keep the millage under a 1000 on it also.

Yes I sold my C6 last fall in anticipation of the new Z06...I had only 16k on the clock and it was a 2006! I promised myself that Im going to drive this thing a lot!!!

I'm glad that I just about made it through summer without a Vette...And, it was not to bad! I guess its because I didn't see too many C7's on the road...But when I did, boy was it painful!

Just want to see some pricing numbers now!

With all due respect, why buy a car like that if you're not going to drive it? I love to drive my car any chance I get. Seriously, not flaming you at all, just trying to understand. To me that'd be like being married to a supermodel and never sleeping with her????

Warning.

If GM is still playing games, you MIGHT want to order museum delivery.

I special ordered a 2014 Z/28 in January. It was to be built in May. It was actually built June 10th, and parked outside the factory.

It is STILL parked outside the factory today. GM will not say when they will ship it.
For those who don't know, a Z/28 is a limited production $75,000 car. It uses the Z06 engine, formula one shocks, carbon ceramic brakes, etc. 440 were built for 2014. It's not your dad's Z/28.

You'd think GM would want to move those units. But apparently not. So last week, after it sat outside for 7 weeks, I bailed on the order. It is still sitting in a field today.

Sorry to hear that, they look like damned nice cars and I'm sure a ton of fun to drive. Supposedly even faster than the C7 on the track.

But - what do you expect with government hacks now running the company?

Best guess is they have too many on lots in my area. So they are holding them at the factory.

I took the money and bought Andy Granatelli's last car. RIP Mr.500.
It is SN011 2010 ZR1 (red of course) and had 1700 miles on it. It says ANDY when you fire it up.

Same price. That will tell you how well supercars hold their value. The window stick said $121k.

But I really wanted that Z/28. Not that the ZR1 isn't nice, it's just that the Z28 might be last true Man's Car. No AC, single speaker radio, 427ci NA engine, MANual. Like a retro track weapon.

I will venture a guess I can buy a low mile Z/28 for under $50k in a couple years.

Mayve that's what they wanted? Some VIP wants it so they just parked it until you gave up.
