Hmmmmmmmm..."Someone" ran an 11.38 @ 127.28 in a stock 662HP GT500..
...Just saw it on a Camaro forum....2nd fastest time for stock ever.....fastest was 11.25 @127.91..all came down to the 60 foot.....Maybe one guy was 20lbs too heavy.....
I wonder If a 6 Speed Hellkitty will see that in good air......They say the gearing is very similar......we all know the weight is not...lol

IMO, traction is going to be a big issue with the stock Hellcats, just like it was for the GT500. BUT, the biggest issue with the GT500's was the damn "electronic powertrain feature", otherwise known as clutch protection/torque management/whatever. It seriously hobbled the car at the track.

I'll tell you what the difference was...the 11.2 was run at Atco in VERY good air and the 11.3 was run at Orlando Speedworld in 50-60* temps. So yeah...that 11.3 might have been a little better, or maybe not since better air means more power and more trouble with traction.

Well I am old school......I like the Dodge Charger. It is a great looking throwback vehicle. Hence, Camaro needs to step it up. Because right now there is a lot of space between those two. 707 hp vs 580 hp is a joke.

The Challenger is the best looking of the retro muscle cars. The camaro is going to have trouble competing going forward because it can't have more power than the Vette. The 14 GT500 has a lot of trouble putting the HP to the ground especially with the stock F1's.

I agree. I do love all three (Camaro/Mustang/Challenger) but Dodge really got it right with the Challenger's styling, retro but still contemporary.
That being said, if I were in the market for the entry level V8 models of each car I would still buy the Mustang or even Camaro before the Challenger because they are lighter. And while I love the LS3/L99 engines of the Camaro SS I would probably still choose the Mustang GT because it's even lighter yet.
As for the Hellcat versus GT500 versus ZL1 (or Z28) comparison?
Hmm, that's a tough one, but that 707hp might just be enough to win me over LOL.

Although the new Dodge Charger is a pretty cool looking vehicle to me I can't get into it b/c how can a Charger have 4 door (that just wrong)!.
Dodge should have done the same modern but contemporary style like you reference on the Charger like the Challenger and that would start by in being offered with 2 doors only.

There are some 1968-1970 Charger styling cues in the various Chargers of the last 8 years (most recently, the tail light treatment) but I agree, the 'classic' Charger was a two door only, not a four door. But hey, they want the cars to sell too and with it being a four door they do move plenty of them (especially to law enforcement).

I agree with you on the looks but SRT/ Dodge will have to come up with bigger better rubber on the Hellcat or they'll have the same issue as the GT500.

True, the Camaro is certainly no lightweight either but it is still notably lighter than it's (similarly equipped) Challenger counterparts. The ZL1 is heavy but is still over 300 pounds lighter than the Hellcat. The SS weighs roughly 300 pounds less than the SRT8 etc.

This resulted in the HP Hemi Chargers being replaced with six-cylinder equipped Chargers for patrol cars.

As far as the new Charger looking like the Dart: I agree that it's messed up that Dodge carried over styling from their entry-level sedan to their fullsize, but I personally think it looks great! It would have been better if the Charger had gotten that treatment first, though.

When the charger was 1st introduced in South Carolina the Highway Patrol ordered them with the available Hemi motor. However, it proved too much to handle for the average Highway Patrol driver as the accident rate of the Highway Patrol cruisers soon more than doubled.
This resulted in the HP Hemi Chargers being replaced with six-cylinder equipped Chargers for patrol cars.

You can definitely tell who has previous enthusiast driving experience and who cares about driving in LE... I've got a few coworkers who I wouldn't want to ride with on a road course in anything faster than a 5.7 Hemi Charger
