Take with a grain of salt, but the gm rep at the z06 display provided the following information...

Z06 coupe base will start in the high 80s, fully loaded will top over 100.
Final Pricing expected to be released in September
If you can afford a 'loaded' c6 z06 then you can afford a c7 z.

Interesting info...huge departure from the previous C6Z from back in 06 ($$ Wise) and i'm sure performance wise....still a buy at 80k, but then you open up a wide variety of other performance cars....new and used. Can't wait to have mine

100k and over for a Chevy is rediculous. The market for slightly used performance cars for that price is HUGGGGGE!

Not surprised one bit. And they will sell every single one of them at that price.

This is not surprising at all. I've figured for some time that the C7Z will start at $86k. $70's for that car is a pipe dream IMO. Furthermore, Harlan stated when interviewed by phantasm that since it was possible to option a C6Z to over $100k, the same would be possible with the C7Z. IMO, they aren't going to sell a $75k C7 Z that can have ~$30k of options.
Listen at 6:10.

Out of curiosity, what cars do you think are available in this price range that have anywhere near the performance envelope that the C7 Z06 will have. Serious question.

Audi r8 Aston Martin vantage Porsche Turbo, I'm sure a detailed google search would yeild tons of vehicles. And over vehicle, maybe not 100% of the "track" car the z will be but overall quality of a vehicle for that price range.

I figured at least that much for a base price.

So of those, an R8 V10 (which is the only variant that would even be in the same zip code as the C7Z) can't be touched for $100k unless it's a very early V10 with probably 30k+ on it. Most of the low-mileage, newer examples are closing in on $130k. The Vantage isn't even a contender from any performance perspective unless it's one of the rare V12. And the only 911 Turbos out there for $100k will be lower mileage ~'10's or older or higher mileage '11's (which will still typically be $115-120k and up).
You can get an old Gallardo for ~$100k, but again, it's a 4+ year old used car compared to the latest.
If somebody is looking for a used car, and that works for them, great.
But IMO nothing is going to have the performance, amenities, tech, etc. of the C7 Z for less than $125k or so other than a used, or new for that matter, Viper (for which values have plummeted).

I'll be the first to say it, if true that's disappointing. I fully agree that GM will sell everyone of them, but I don't think they'll be "flying off the shelves" at that price, at least not after the initial onslaught wears off (and they add the price increase they usually do after 6 more months). With high 80s to start, just a few mods can have this in the 90s (auto trans, dual tops) so saying a fully loaded will top 100 is laughable to me because its not like that its barely over 100, this thing is gonna get there rather quick. Fully loaded could be in the 1teens and convertibles might top that. Maybe I'll get to start on my home theater room sooner than I wanted

I too can't say that I am surprised, but was really hoping it would start lower. I still plan on buying one spring 2016, but that means just gonna have to start saving a little more seriously.

When they said if you could afford a C6 you could afford a C7 ...they were spot on....

Now....they have already said....if you could afford a C6 Z06 you could afford a C7 Z06....I personally expect about the same base price based on that....otherwise Harlan and Tadge should just have STFU......we will all know soon enough......

My guess is a 1LZ M7 no-option coupe will be $86k (don't forget that includes MSRC and NPP); a 3LZ will add $9k; the Z07 package will add $10k (because it's not just the brakes and tires, but the CF parts that were previously part of a $3995 "Carbon Fiber Package" that was required on the C6Z Z07 package). I think a 3LZ Z07 package car will be $105k. Add an A8, chrome badges, spectra gray wheels with machined lips, museum delivery, BG engine build and you may very well see 1-teens as you stated.

He also mentions you would really have to try and load it up to pass 100K. 4lt package is like 10K by itself. I still think it is going to be around 80K base.

Well, there is hope (for me). I was thinking worst case with all my options (which isn't much) was 85 (plus taxes T&L etc). If the base includes NPP then there is one option I won't need to add, then if they can just keep the auto option reasonable.... I really don't need navigation. Maybe the living room will suffice just a bit longer

Ah well, something to dream on, hope everyone has a short week

Sept. seems like inordinate amount of time just to come up with pricing.

Oh well, I won't be able to get a vert til spring anyhow but it would be nice to know if my selections will even be within my budget.

Probably because they have not ironed out every detail of what each stage will offer. They are still testing.

Plus $110k is what the rumor now is.
If you don't have the cash ... you lose.
