agreed.

I refuse to pay over MSRP for almost any car just out of principle. I have a deposit down for MSRP. If it changes, I'm not getting the car. I don't see a need for being one of the first people with the car, but getting bent over and paying a markup, especially when in 3-4 years, you'll be able to get one for invoice.

Seriously - under invoice, not under MSRP? If so, the dealership is willing to give up not only the +/- 12% between invoice and MSRP. but also part of the factory holdback?

That would be one exceptionally sweet deal..............

Do you have a relative who owns a dealership?

My wife is the EVP and CFO of a dealer and they are not giving employes a deal. If I want the car I must pay MSRP. On the plus side. I don't have to pay a bump and I will get one.

How does anyone even know if they will offer a Z07 option right away? It was not an option right away with the previous Z06 and never an option on the gen before that.

Just food for thought. Car is already going to have aero package on it all your missing is CC brakes, if GM keeps to form from the last ZO7 option package.

I've modded cars for a long period of my life. My 2c is that it is a waste of money for the most part. My plan is to buy the Z06 as long as it is ~80k. If GM prices it over 90k I'll get the Z51, but WILL NOT mod it for more power/ anything that voids warranty.

Enjoy it stock. There will always be something faster/better looking around but at least you'll know overall its possibly the best deal for your money. Not so with mods.

can't be a stingray if it doesn't exist.
can't be mine if I don't own it.

I can have a stingray, doesn't mean other corvettes aren't stingrays.

I don't think the problem is with definitions. I think it might be with assumptions.....?

the C7 is the stingray. not just the base model. anyone who says otherwise can get in an internet argument with me.

GM said so at the reveal back in January and http://www.chevrolet.com/corvette-z06-supercar.html mentions it several times. They could be just bluffing, though.

Car is already going to have aero package on it; all you're missing is CC brakes, if GM keeps to form from the last ZO7 option package.
The C6 Z07 package had aero and CC brakes, or at least you had to get CFZ before you could get the rest of the Z07 stuff. This one has what they call Stage 3 aero along with CC brakes. Too bad you have to pay for all the other stuff just to get CC brakes if that's all you want, as some of us do. Also it comes with the really sticky tires that won't last long in daily driving, so plan around that too.

Actually it is even worse than what you just mentioned...the Z07 ride quality will be stiffer than the other Z06 cars.

I really need to see the difference in person between Stage 1 & 2 before making up my mind. 99% of normal people probably wouldn't notice the difference between any of them lol.

I hope the stage 2 package isn't as big a price increase as the Z07 will probably be. I'm not interested in the Z07 stuff as I'm looking for a street hot rod. Was looking at base Z51 coupes recently and they are already pricing in around 68-70K. Might as well spend the extra coin on the Z06.
