smoked would have been a nice touch...the clear tails do look ricer style from the 90's. And yes they look like **** on the Porsche.

At least the C7 doesn't have "Camaro tailights" , otherwise it would look like that '92 Honda Civic :

Guess if someone does not like the looks or something about the car......we cant afford it. Idiots!

is a z07 vert even within the realm of sanity? no track will allow it to use its potential as it comes from the factory. so over the top for street use that it has to be only for bragging rights / looks.....

just sittin back thinking out loud....

my thoughts exactly....Z06 is a badge you associate with a track beast.

fixed.

The Z06 vert is here to stay. Get over it.

Juechter acknowledges that not everybody will embrace this bigger Z06 tent. "Some hard-core owners liked the idea that it was track-specific, only manual transmission, and you had to be pretty macho to step up and buy one. It created a little bit of an exclusive club. But we are in the business of selling cars to people who love cars, not creating clubs to exclude people."

Yes. There is no such thing as a Z07 vert. My best guess was that you really meant Z06.

So then you're all for the Z06 vert, as long as it does not have the Z07 package?

The viper seems to do quite well in racing terms. It's the marketing that needs the help, not the car.

Exactly what I'm saying. People keep screaming for a "hard-core track monster, no cylinder deactivation, no auto, no targa, no vert, no blower, for elite exclusive REAL drivers" but don't seem to know that their wish was fulfilled last year. Ralph Gilles deliberately aimed the Gen V at the track market even though he could have built the convertible first with little additional effort. Result: over 400 Vipers sitting unsold, some of them (like the one nearest me) for a year now.

So the best thing the anti-vert crowd can do is put their money where their hate is and actually BUY the car they SAY they want, especially since Viper prices are descending toward economic reality.

if internet car nuts advised every car company CEO and Bd of Directors on " product " from the comfort of their anonymous keyboards, ,each would be out of business within one product cycle

the vert pictured is a z07 optioned car, the ccb's are only available with z07, as is the adjustable rear spoiler.

i am all for a z06 vert, may order one with the auto. z07 option is really meant for track performance. no vert's i know are allowed on any track i know without roll cage. thus i dont see the sanity in a z06 vert with the z07 option. others may, and surely the looks factor is a major part of getting that option on a vert. its a good bit of coin for something that has no real use as sold.

I believe some tracks will allow stock verts in certain run groups, like VIR Touring Lites. That by itself, I agree, wouldn't justify springing for a Z07 package.

But (not that I would personally know, nope, not at all) there may be people running very very fast on twisty back roads when no troopers are around, and they need all the help they can get to stay on the road and out of the trees. Z07 aero, sticky tires, and CCBs would be well worth the few thousand extra. "Good bit of coin" is relative when talking about a $90k+ supercar.

I would almost get Z07 just for the CCBs, since deer are by far the biggest safety problem around here. And CCBs supposed to last the life of the car and I plan to keep it for 30 years, but during that same 30 years I would go through a lot of busted splitters, and all that downforce means more drag and lower mileage, so never mind.

At the NCM Bash, Harlan Charles described the lenses as "smoked", not clear. Like a DSLR camera's neutral density filter. The GM rep who was answering questions about the two Z06s (silver convertible and yellow coupe) on display said the same thing.

Actually I like the styling of the new Camaro a lot better than the C7.

Pretty sad day, but it will certainly save my family lots of cash!!!...

I love it. I can't wait to get the car that made me want a soft top convertible again.

Great job GM.

Yes, because no one on here has ever bragged about their "427", have they? They learned their lesson with the C6 427 convertible and I for one am glad they took notes then.

I believe Lamborghini uses safety deck pop up "roll bars" in the event of a rollover. Maybe that will be incorporated into future convertible models?

I LOVE my C6 427, if ya need a roll bar ya don't need that silly helmet. Thats not why Im here posting I just saw your post first.
I came to say. I really was trying hard to see somthing in the C7 that made me wanna trade in my WOUNDERFUL C6 427, but couldn't convince myself I would enjoy the C7 more or like the looks better or.... After seeing this car Ive been converted , wide body good looks, a performer and a WOW factor of 9+.
Awsome car for sure!!
