C7 ZO6 is so awesome it makes the C7 look dated

If that's a jab at my GS your barking up the wrong tree as I could care less what the C7 would do to my GS. All as I know and care is the GS with its wide body and massive tires is by far the better looking of the two. I couldn't drive either car to it's capabilities to see the difference ( just like everybody else here ) so your analogy is a moot point as far as I'm concerned.

Wow is the new Z06 nice. Just plain WOW. At least 625hp?!?! Just 20 years ago, the "King of the Hill" made 375hp! When you think about it, 625hp from the factory is absolutely insane.....but I like it.

ouch!
It is amazing to me how different the Z car makes the C7 look, I mean they hardly even resemble each other. Almost all that IMO was wrong with the C7 they have corrected with the new Z model. The wide body, the massive rubber, the splitter and side skirts, the "real" spoiler and of course the power plant. I mean geez, they gave the C7 a 24hp increase and kicked up the Z by 120. I truly felt another Corvette wasn't on my radar until the release of the new ZO6, GM seems to have listened and made some excellent choices they've implemented into the Z.

Actually, the C7Z makes the base model "obsolete".............

How in the hell does it make a C7 Z51 look dated?...
It's the same damn car with a wider body and more HP/TQ.....
It's a more aggressive version of the same car..... but it's still a C7...and still looks like a C7
Now it def makes a C6 look even more dated .....
It's got the same back end...same tail lights and vents you haters couldn't stand..... but now you love it....hehehehe......Now it's a whole different car.....LMAO!!!!!
I knew you guys would come around...hahahahahahahahaha

Clean up the styling, integrate the body colors, and then the appearance will match the awesome performance!

My favorite part of the C7 was the front end but now on the Z06 even that has gotten super cluttered and does not fit as well with the rest of the design IMO. It's narrow bumper with a bunch of "aero" parts slapped onto it. The rest of the C7 Z06 is a big improvement on the base (especially the sides!) but all in all I am luke warm to the whole C7 both the base and in Z06 form.
Maybe it will have a different effect in person but the things I didn't like on the base car did not look any better in person. I have had at least one of each C4 through C6 (earlier gens where before my time) but this may be the first Corvette I skip purchasing. GM will survive, I know, but is is not a happy realization for me as I am huge fan.

I hope you are right with C7 ZR1 as that will be on hell of a nasty Vette........I still think the final #'s on the C7 Z will exceed the C6 ZR1 #'s just look at the advertised #'s on the ZR1 back in 08-09 I think it was 620Hp but when the car was certified the HP jumped to 638..Shelby did the same thing with the GT500 it was advertised at 650HP and when it was certified the official HP #'s was 662 so the C7 Z could come in the 650HP range maybe!!..doesn't really matter to me I'll be getting one anyway.

Nope, not all of us. I think the C7Z is even more over done/over styled than the base model C7. Too many add - ons, black panels, and wheel well lips.. Looks like a boy racer's wet dream.

650 will be the number. With even more peak Torque. With only 12 more BHP than 638 and probably 100 lbs heavier, it's probably very similar acceleration. But, the automatic will make it quicker. It's about all these RWD platforms can put to the ground anyways.

Priceless is when they get the Z06 and get roasted by a stock looking C7!

The only people that think the C7 looks wimpy are the ones who are not driving it. Set up a new Z51 with the right colors, and you will have people tracking you down inside the C-store to ask you about the car. I just came out of a 525 whp Z, and the Stingray gets 5 times the fan fair. So hail to the new Stingray and the fact that GM took a giant leap forward. Like some one else posted, I am going to wait 3 years and let the price on the new Z come down a little bit, then make the leap

The new C7 Z06 looks killer. And although I don't feel my C6 Z is dated just yet, it is without a doubt "different" in looks, performance, and technological advances. That being said - I hope the new Z is upwards of $89,000 so I can't afford one. The higher the price tag, the better. Hahaha

Packaging kept the size down. Expecting to turn the power up may dissapoint!
Thats for sure. When the price numbers come down in 3 years.
garage queens will be found. Playing with the 590 rear
wheel I have now is a lot of fun!
