Targa? or Vert?
Either of these will get my consideration - with an Automatic. Have there been any hints at either?
I'm likely to soon sell my SSB 427 Convertible either way, as it sits in my garage and doesn't get driven enough - wife can't drive stick and I spend more time with my classic cars.
(Honestly, the Z51 is just not exclusive enough for my taste. And sorry in advance for the fixed roof fans, but I'd bet the real market numbers for Z06s would show that few ever really see track use, and most are purchased for street use - I've driven tracks several times too, but I'd never do it regularly with a new $90K+ car.)

Old guy....and older guy...
Haha, j/k
All mentioned take away from the true track car heritage, but creature features are here to stay and in demand. I wouldn't be surprised to see some new options for the Z. End the end it's about their sales.

Exclusivity is that intangible value knowing others recognize you hold something truly unique. Unfortunately, Corvette and exclusivity aren't the best bed fellows no matter what engine they put under the hood. Still a mass produced car. That said, a 600+ hp Corvette convertible would be awesome.

There's no reason for the C7 to not be targa/vert. The C7 was designed to be aluminum from the start so there's no need to bolt the roof in to prevent the owner from easily removing it as there was with the C6 Z06/ZR1.
The C7 targa and vert with the top out/down are 20% stiffer than the C6 Z06/ZR1 with the top bolted in. The C7 coup is 60% siffer with the targa panel latched back in.

Help, I bought what was described as a C5 tinted clear transparent targa top. What I got was a Lexan top that is opaque not transparent. Was this top available with the C2L dual removable panel option? I thought that the C2L option only came with a blue tinted transparent top. Also can someone tell me what is meant by a vert top?
Thanks,
Dennis
