Exactly! With the Z28 listed at $75,000 not counting the markups, you can bet that the Z06 will more than likely start out closer to $100,000. GM did say that this would be their best track corvette yet.

People on here think that if they say something enough it will happen, well it won't. This Z06 is going to more than likely surpass the 2013 ZR1 in performance and as such will garner the same price or close. I predict a starting MSRP of $92,000-94,000. It could be more given that some items have yet to be revealed. Time will tell but if it does come in lower, the dealers will mark up the hell out of them because they will be in such high demand. If they list for $78,000 then expect dealer markups of at least $15,000-$25,000. Who knows? It won't be long now. Either way people will have their checkbooks ready.

Just like the C7 Z51, with it's better performance, technology, interior, etc. was priced higher than the C6 Grand Sport... oh wait.

It's called progress.

Isn't a loaded Stingray already in the high $70Ks? And some you think the Z will start around the same price point?

A completely loaded stingray is around 75K. I don't think it would be unreasonable for a stripped down Z06 to start slightly higher then that.

There is roughly 20K in options to get the C7 up that high in price. That would make a C7Z 100K loaded, if it starts at 80K.

Strongly disagree! I have respect for both of the cars mentioned in the performance area, but the C7 (specially the Z06 variant) is waaaay sexier than both cars combined, has a nicer interior than both (specially the GT-R) and will be a World beater. I wouldn't take either over a Corvette even if they were half the price as one.

The new C7Z is much more a new generation ZR1 than Z06 and will be priced somewhere in the middle. The only reason it's badged a Z06 is for better brand recognition and possibly a goodwill gesture to current ZR1 owners. Porsche pricing on their entire product line has skyrocketed on new generation cars not so much with base price but "actual" after options and they are still being snapped up quickly.

Seem's more a new Z06 to me.. A new ZR1 if any, would be over 700HP.

The C6Z was a pretty huge leap over the C5Z too.
