It appears that you can use this as a conventional dash cam without the overlays. It will be interesting if they designed it to function for both track use and normal driving.

If they could develop this with the ability to use as a conventional dash cam, it would sell even better as a multi use option. Using a larger 64gb card, parking mode with motion detection while car is parked, interface with i-phone or droid phones for security viewing. Heat generation could be a issue and night vision ability would be critical. It's already very cool but could really become a must have option if combined both performance data and conventional dash cam tech.

From what I read Tour Mode is like a conventional dash cam

That is cool!!!! Like carboy said though. gotta watch out. Would be no different then riding with a gopro and racing.

I think this really shows Chevy's commitment to the Corvette being a top notch track car for amateur drivers. I don't know of any other manufacturer with this level of commitment.
