Probably see a similar dynamic with owners of the previous Z when the new Z is available.
We're likely to see some good stuff as vette fans over the next few years, and it may be the last non-electric hybrid run prior to the draconian teeth of CAFE forcing the C8 to be a demonstrably different machine - perhaps just as solid on performance, but different nonetheless.

Op was close. Well, sort of. According to the Chevy website, the 2015 Z06 has 620HP and 650# torque. Very impressive.
This is a screen shot from Google that I just took this morning. Apparently, google captured the metadata from the Chevrolet page. I don't know how long it will be before GM pulls that down but if you google "2015 Chevrolet Z06 Supercar", it's right there for all to see.
This is the source as was posted on the main C7 discussion page here at CF.

This thread is a F in JOKE.
ESC is making with high 7 pds almost 600 RWHP(thats close to 700 flywheel). If the new ZO6 is 625 hp(flywheel) supercharged, they would have it so restrictor plated it would be stupid to even supercharge it to begin with.
Honestly, why would anyone post such worthless information is really amazing.
Moderators should close this thread!!!!

We are talking about a bone stock corvette here not one this is FQCKING modified. For a certain amount of $ you can make any car make stupid horsepower, your post is simply idiotic and stupid!!

Put the crack pipe down. We are talking about a factory bone stock vehicle with full factory warranty not a fqkciing modified corvette!!! What do you think the C7 Z06 will make when ECS modifies it in the future by throwing on a smaller pulley to make more boost, throwing on headers, and tuning it? 700rwhp, 750, 800rwhp?

Tadge Juechter has said “if you could afford the old Z06, you’ll be able to afford the new Z06.”
http://www.caranddriver.com/news/201...d-z-0-6-page-2
The new C7 Z06 with every option checked, fully loaded will be less than 100k, according to car and driver which they say Chevrolet has told them that. Skip to 6:17 in the video.
I believe it's possible for GM to keep this Z06 priced way lower due to GM cutting costs lately as well. GM is cutting costs by now building their aluminum frame at the Bowling Green assembly plant as well as the engines. They have also been able to have access to cheaper carbon fiber as opposed to 5 years ago, which was a reason the ZR1 was more expensive. More than ZR1 performance for a Z06 price. If a fully optioned Z06 is less than 100k then I would expect a bare bones base Z06 would be mid 70k mark. This would be an extreme bargain for a Z06 with out of this world performance if you ask me, but remember nothing is set in stone until Chevrolet "officially" releases their pricing.
