New Era Performance Aluminum Race Axle-Back Exhaust for 2014+ C7 Stingray Corvette! As posted at an earlier date, we began working on a lightweight racing aluminum axle-back system for our shop C7 test vehicle. We are happy to announce that the system has been tested and optimized for production and is now available for resale. Why aluminum? Aluminum is much lighter than stainless steel. This system weighs in at a total of 14.5 lbs (1.5 lbs heavier than our prototype system because of the added structure supports everywhere), 30 lbs lighter than the factory base exhaust, 36 lbs lighter than the factory dual mode exhaust. Aluminum is less expensive than titanium, allowing us to make this light-weight exhaust more affordable than even most stainless systems. Our exhaust system features a “straight through” design. Straight through mufflers, elimination of the restrictive AFM exhaust valves as well as smooth transitions from the 2.75” stock H-pipe to the 3” mufflers helped to yield a 5rwhp/7rwtq gain in our completely stock (just tuned) base C7 over the factory exhaust system (se dyno graph below). Larger gains over the stock system can be expected with cam’d or forced induction cars as well. This exhaust system has a deep throaty sound and does have some interior drone from inside the cabin at select rpms and throttle states. One of the common problems with aluminum exhaust systems is strength and reliability. We wanted to create a racing exhaust system that would help reduce weight and gain power, but allow for frequent street use. Using experience gained from the use of our own aluminum axle back system in our 2010 Camaro SS, we were able to optimize common weakness areas to improve reliability and longevity. Our 2010 Camaro SS has had our aluminum exhaust on it for 4 years now and has endured punishing regular daily driving through four seasons as well as weekly racing throughout the summer. The only areas that we observed breakage have been addressed and strengthened on the C7 system.

Strength and reliability optimizations include the following:

-Additional material bracing around all butt-weld joints -Bracing to support exhaust tips in relationship to the muffler

-No butt-welds on hangers, hangers bent to form around mufflers on each side for additional support and strength Our quad-tip exit exhaust system is truly unique!

Our 3 3/4” OD polished exhaust tips are CNC precision machined from 6061 billet aluminum in-house. These tips are our own design, and will give a unique look to the rear-end of your C7 not available on any other exhaust system! Extra care has been taken in the design of the system as well as the design of the production process to ensure perfect tip alignment on every set. This system is constructed from 1.5mm wall T6061 Mandrel bent aluminum tubing and is tig-welded in-house. 100% designed, tested and manufactured in the USA.
