Default Increase HP from 465 to 501. What mods>

I have a 2016 Z51, dual mode exhaust, 8 speed automatic with 51K miles. What engine mods do you recommend to reach 501 HP?

thanks

Catless headers and X pipe, CAI, ported OEM manifold, dyno tune netted me 445 RWHP = ~500 crank HP though I have an M7. An auto would yield a bit less.

To be honest, I'd forego the CAI. I'm not sure these things really give you bang for the buck with minimal mods. Ported OEM manifold fattens up the midrange, just added a few HP up top. I used 2" Texas Speed ehaders and X pipe because I got a deal on them. Tuner told me 1 7/8" Kooks or American racing would probably have netted another 10hp or so.

LT headers, X-pipe, throttle body upgrade and a good tune may get you there.

Probably going to need heads and came package for around 500 Wheel will honestly probably be a bit shy of that. You could install a super charger and easily make around 550 wheel.

Sorry, not answering OPs question, but my question is this; how does boosting HP 35-40 HP, effect driving, seat of pants feel? It doesn't sound like much.

It is noticeable. Spins the tires more readily than before, honestly surprising how much a 10% increase feels like.

While not advocating street racing, those extra 40 RWHP do make a difference. I've never done more than stomp it for a few seconds when some kid in a turbo'd Audi eggs me on enough I get tired of ignoring him. You won't be mistaken for a stock C7, but you also won't be mistaken for a Z06 either. In an M7, I love it.

Mind sharing your cost for this. My guesstimation is $10-14 thousand installed and tuned? I really like the idea of staying NA and have that muscle car sound but it's hard to argue with ECS $8,000 base kit installed.

i dont remember the exact cost of the e85, i think right around $800 installed and tuned.. then i had a lifter break which forced me to do heads and cam. the long tubes and intake were on the car when i bought it

so e85 (800 ish), soler TB 300, heads cam and all that good stuff 7513.63, borla atak about $1600 so total i paid was $10213.63, but add in long tubes and intake i could see it being right around 12k mark

Plan on 12-14k all in for everything that Travlee has. I have very similar mods and that's what it wound up costing me all in. My car was all stock except I already had ported intake/TB, CAI and a XPipe. I picked up 95hp and 31ft lbs torque. I figure from all stock I picked up 100 hp maybe a touch more.

To say it's noticeable is an understatement. It made a fast car feel more angry up top. I expect it to be 8-10mph more trap speed in 1/4 mile. That's a lot for such simple mods. It's just a different car above 3500rpm's with no loss down low.

Just how many hp is enough?

I guess I drive like driving Ms. Daisy but stock hp is more than enough for me everyday needs.

Couldn't you go A&A or Procharger and accomplish the same thing for less $?

Yes but I wanted to stay NA for now.

I may do a 416 short block in the future. Eventually, I plan to do track days so staying NA is part of the plan.

Yes. That’s my dilemma. ECS is about 3 hours away from me and for $8000, will add 150hp with really the only downside being you’re adding more equipment to break or to break your already existing equipment.

There are certainly reasons to do just that.
