Default OEM or Ceramic Spark Plug Wires with Headers?

Installing headers soon. Will the AC Delco OEM spark plug wires suffice, or should I get a set of ACCEL Extreme 9000 Ceramic Spark Plug Wires?

Buy spark plug wire boots. For example https://www.summitracing.com/parts/d...kaAmCQEALw_wcB

Due to the angles, the wires will be very close to the headers and can inadvertently touch the header tubes. Regardless of the wires you use.....buy the boots for added protection.

I had the same OEM wires on my '08 from day 1 until I sold it with 161K miles. Headers were installed approx at the 50K mark. No problems, Can't speak for the C7 though.

Headers and a blower , OEM wires with boots are fine .... just make sure you got them angled properly to provide a bit of clearance . Just twist the coil end to adjust the angle , it does not take much .

I also put just a small dab of Dilectric grease in both ends of the wire boot , it will make sliding the boot over the plug or coil so much easier and you will feel the snap when they are engaged . I cant tell you how many people have had a spark plug wire pop off on a C7

Depends on clearance. With my PFadt TriY headers stock would not clear at all so i needed something smaller. The accel ceramics fit but you really need to make sur they are on tight as the tend to fall off with hi G forces

The Accel Ceramics were on the top of my list, but I read where folks complain that they tend to crack easily. Sometimes just in shipping.

I’ve not had good luck with the Accel ceramics. I use Moroso wires on my 2019 ZR1 with headers as recommended by Vengeance Racing with no issues.

MSD plug wires, are bendable., and keep the shape. SO with Headers (2" primary's on mine), you can install them and bend the boost away from the header, and they stay. keep in order if you change plugs and they go back on.

Heat boost normally trap heat inside them and cook the wires faster in my experience. they do stop them from burning from touching but cook the wires internally.
