Just purchased a 2017 Z51. Love it. Noticed after driving it a bit that it seems to surge up and down a bit around 1300-1600 rpm’s when not under load. No issues when accelerating. Anyone else experience this or heard of this issue? It has about 18,500 miles on it. Thanks!

If it is an A8 automatic it is the AFM going in and out of V4.

That could be a symptom of it needing the trans fluid triple flush. I don't recall the rpm, but it was at about 60 or so on the highway mine did that. Eventually I started to get the occasional shudder the A8's are known for. Do a search for triple flush and you'll see its fairly common on the pre 2018 cars. I think there is also an update to the transmission software that improves torque converter lock up they may do at the same time.
