Default Can you calibrate the dash daylight sensor?

My daylight sensor thinks its too dark for too long. This causes my mirrors to be almost too dark to see out of in the morning. Also my headlights are on until is gets direct sunlight later in the day. Anyway to calibrate this or is that just how they designed it?

The response should be nearly instantaneous. Something is wrong.

The mirrors and headlights should be on a different system I'd imagine. I know headlights can be affected by how dark your tint is. The mirrors usually darken when some light is shone on them.

I shined my phone light on the sensor and everything switched to daylight mode at the same time. Tint might be the issue. The previous owner put that windshield tint on that only covers the top 6-7 inches, something I don't see done very often so it could have weird results.

The auto headlight sensor (top of dash) and the auto-dimming mirror sensor (inside the interior rear-view mirror) are two separate systems that do not "talk" to each other.

There is a TSB for this on 2014's only. However, it also makes the LCD dash and infotainment really dark as well. This TSB fixes the issue. I bought a MDI2 clone and paid for the AC Delco 24 month VIN membership and just did the update on my own 2014. It resolved the issue, however my mirror and rearview still stay really dim. I also have dark tint so it could be the issue?

Tint on the windshield will cause the auto-dim mirrors to darken when they shouldn't.
