Default Alarm annoyance

I have a 2018 Z06. I keep forgetting that the car has an elevation alarm so when I jack it up, the alarm goes off. Not good when the wife is sleeping! Lol

Is there a way to shut that off for good besides pressing that button on the left side of the steering wheel?

Easiest way as I see it, short of reconfiguring the auto door lock feature is to simply leave one door unlatched/ partially open.

That's what I did, but AFTER the alarm triggered due to I forgot about that feature. Lol
They should have it where you can disable it.

Whenever I'm working on the car I leave the key in the cup holder so the alarm never activates. After being startled by the alarm a few times in the garage I don't risk it anymore lol.

You can deactivate the alarm using the button next to the hatch / trunk release. After you trip the alarm a couple times you will remember. Ask me how I know...

Default alarm

I have a 2017 GS and unless it is somewhere else, it is not by the hatch opening on my car, is it somewhere else?

That doesn't seem to answer the OPs question. He already stated he knew about the button. He wants it off permanently.

Maybe he has a 1LT in which case it isn't there on the button.

The car is an LT1 and the manual says 'it may have a button" which means by default, it may not have a button and it means it may not even have the sensor.

OK, that's probably why you can't find it!

Have a great day!

Is this something on newer, i.e. 2018+, or has it always existed? I can jack up my 2017 Z06 and the alarm never goes off, all I do is use the remote to unlock all the doors first. Maybe I'm missing something here.

If you hold down the unlock button on the driver's door for five seconds, you will hear 3 beeps and the
alarm will be disabled until the next ignition on cycle. Or you can go into the infotainment settings and
turn if off permanently.
