GS M7 gear ratios

GS has the same ratios as the Z51. As an aside, gears 1-6 are the same ratios as the TR6060 in the C6 Grand Sport (which were the same, for at least some years as the C6 Z51)

C6 only the ZR1 had the short ratio box with the 2.29
With the C7, both the Z06 and the ZR1 get the 2.29 stack which makes the rest of the gears much more useable on the track.

I agree. Unfortunately the GS gears are much better suited to auto-x....which was how the C6 GS was advertised. Given that the torque curve of the LT1 mimics the LS7 to 4000 rpm, it's always surprised me that Chevy didn't tweak the first three gears in the manual.

Ughhhh. It frustrates me to no end.
Why cant we choose our own ******* transmissions.
The zl1 1le has a tight 6th. Why cant i have that on the ss?
same with this z06 trans. I want that on the gs!

Yep, 3rd to 4th and the car basically loses 50 HP due to **** gearing. 460 HP is enough for even the longer Z06 gears...
