But a hero run of 11.3's for a stock LT1 stingray is highly unlikely . Realistically for a stock manual trans car on oe tires in average warm temps, heat soaked engine, average track prep and average driving skills, is 12.3 to 12.0. A auto trans car realistically under the same conditions 12.1 to 11.9.

I absolutely agree 100 %
And with the auto car being much easier to launch it is easy to replicate those times back to back , I always joked with my friends that I should come back on SATURDAY' bracket racing day because my car was so crazy consistant
if the grip and air was good , 11.8 ,11 9's all night long
if the grip was bad and the DA was bad ......12.0 12.2 all night long

I run my 1LT manual base car with the Zf1 pkg for the Z51 size OE tires with a borla xpipe , conservative 93 octane tune, self ported TB, 180 stat and on a 60 degree day about 1200 DA I just ran a 11.7 @ 121 MPH. Thats with a not so bad or good 1.97 60ft time.

Yep my LT1 with a CAI and a 93 tune ran 11.9 on a 85 degree day and 2 000 DA . I am confident on a cooler day with better DA it would go 11.7
Next up on my list is to install my Edgy Vette ported manifold and throttle body and a another more aggressive tune ,

Last will be headers and then I am done as an 11 second on stock runflats grocery getter is fast enough for me
I dont want to loose the great drivablity and reliability that it has now

Dave

Not as rare as you might think , here is my LT1's most recent time slip on factory RUN FLATS on a track that has marginal grip at best .. so bad that this and several other runs just like it were all done with Launch Control
And the DA sucked ....

I consistently turned mid to hi 1.7s in mine using launch control with the MPSS ZPs. I've been told several times I could improve that by not using launch control and learning a better launch technique.

ETA: My best was a 1.731 but that was on DRs.

Big , I get told the same thing but as long as we have bad track prep at our Test and tune nights I am just sticking with the launch control . I am out to run a few good runs not set any records

I still cant believe that the car I drive to the track pops off 11 second runs and then the next day I am taking it to get groceries lol lol

Like some one stated above , we use to spend a ton of money just to go high 12's .....

My statement said low 1.7 60 ft times (like 1.71) . What size tires are you guys doing these on ? grand sport size, Z51 size and with auto trans cars I assume. I have trouble with my M7 car on a 285 30 20 MPSS. high 1.90 60 ft times with all nannies off

Same tire as you and yes Auto .....dont be a hero with a stick car and put the nannies back on ...

I am confident I can get low 1.7 or high 1.6 with the runflats

We have been struggling with track prep and DA down here in the south , been running around 3000 DA . It finally dropped down to 1200 and we got rained out . Now it's real good but the track is closed until April

Running stock a 1.79 and 11.9 with a 2000 to 3,000 DA and crappy traction is impressive by anybody's standards

What I would give to be back at my old track , Atco raceway ......

We will gett a few months of good weather when the track opens back up in April.before the heat and humidity settle back in ..but we cant do nothing about the traction ....

Dave

Mine was 285/35/19 MPSS ZP. The DRs were the same size M/T ET Street S/S.

You mean the list that hasn't been updated in a LONG time?
