Default Cost effective rear 18" BLACK wheels for drag setup?

Is there a cost effective 18" rear wheel that meets the below criteria?

- must be 18".
- less than $500 per wheel.
- Available in black (do NOT want to plastidip, paint, or powder coat after the fact)
- 10"-11" width and within proper offset range.

I do not want 19" wheels as I want to specifically look into slicks that fit 18" setup with more sidewall height. Ideally I would love to use the C5Z wheels but they are not available in black and I want a set that are actually available in black rather that going through the trouble of getting them recoated.

Let me know if you know any.

I asked House of Wheels and he said he had some, but wasn't specific. Also TSW has Vette wheels in 18" x 10.5", that stick out slightly farther than stock, but would be OK unless you go over 305 width.

I have to also consider my Z51 rear brakes. Which isn't an issue for you.

Have a set of 285 40 18' Nitto 05R's that I would like to try. Used them on the front of my Flex, and now have them on 45 offset 18 x 9.5 120mm wheels for my G8's. Won't be stripping enough for a dedicated set of wider tires.

I believe the 18" TSW's are only in offsets for the front. Also, with the Z51 brakes, I have upgraded my brakes completely to Z51 from and rear, but, the base model rear brake calipers are the same as the Z51. Only difference in the rotors is that they are slotted and the pad compound is more agressive. So, I have the same clearance issues you would have lol

Sorry.. I wasn't sure on rear brake fitment issues.

If you go to TSW website and put in Nurburgring, Interlagos, or the 2 Cray styles, but listing the the wheel type and the 120.65 BP, you will get all Vette wheels they have. There are 18 x10.5" in the same rear offset as the 19 & 20" 10.5". So.. if they clear our brakes, they would be ideal. Check Docz (forum member)- Tampa Bay (Sarasota) on TSW availability and fitment. The 18's are also 5 lbs lighter (21 lbs) than the 20's! Nitto drag slicks are not light like Hoosiers. My 17" 9.5 wheels & 275 Hoosiers only weigh 43 lbs. Wish they would fit...

I just checked TireRack's site. The OZ Challenge in Black 18" x 10" 79 offset, are available Special Order for $479. + shipping. They look just like TSW Interlagos from pix. Not sure how long it would take to get. If you call Mason @ Tire Rack, he could check and tell you. I have dealt with him on many sets of tires.

I like the interlagos a lot. I checked the TSW site, and it looks like their inventory shows that they have Black 18x10.5 with a 120.65BP but only in a 65 offset. Does that mean I would need to have them special ordered? or worse, specially made?

Also just for reference, for tires I plan to use Mickey Thompson ET Street II's in 305/35/18's.

I would talk to DocZ ( up in Sarasota - vendor here) on thatTSW Interlagos fitment with 305's. I believe those tires are smaller diameter, which will add clearance between tire and fender. Also, not all 305's are the same width, so that can affect things. Lastly, think you can add negative camber which will bring tire inside more at the top.

I am thinking about some of these options myself, as I have a set of 285-40-18 Nitto 5R's going back with me to IA.

Currently on 9 1/2 Beyern rims (120.0) and 45 offset, which will bolt up, but likely stick out way too far. Sticking out is not the issue, if the squat when leaving the line doesn't cause the fenders to hit the tires. If I get extra time and energy... might throw one one here before we drive back.

OOPS... Just tried one of the 45 offset 9/12 Beyern rims. The inside isn't dished out enough and touches the brake caliper. Might work with a spacer. Really didn't stick out any farther than some of the custom wheels/ slightly wider tires seen on Vette forum. Our stock wheels are really dished out, all the way to the edge. Assume the TSW Vette fitment wheels in 18" are designed and machined the same, but one needs to make sure before mounting a tire on them.

I am running TSW 18X9 with M/T 265X40x18 DR's (same hight as OEM). Used the tires a few times on a C6 I had and they hooked fine. Bought the tires about 4 years ago and the dead hooked on my C7 on my best 2 runs. Paid $610.00 for the wheels mounted and balanced, I had bought the TPS's. The wheels and tires are about 11 or 12 LBS each less weight. Got around 1.76 60' out of them. Going to run them again this weekend.

Look at forgestar wheels. They are like the TSW of custom wheels. Same rotary forged wheel process, but they have a great selection of wheel sizes and you can get the offsets custom to your application. Best of all, the are about $360 shipped. I just picked up a set of 18x12" forgestar f14's with the offset I specified for $720 to my door. Great wheel and a great price, it's about a 4 week lead Time as they are made to order.

Do either of you guys have any issues with rubbing the fenders when the rear end squats to launch?

My car is not lowered and has plenty of room, even lowered I would assume it would be fine though.
Stock 19 wheels weighed 29lbs on my scale as well

I pulled a 1.60 on MT radials 265/40/18 on my 18x9 tsw interlargos. Perfect fitment, much lighter than stock and look great! I run 18x9 all around btw. I think this setup is good for 1.4s with good prep.

What about these? Aren't they the same as the C5Z back spacing?
