For those of you who say that any N/A car, or even just the base model wouldn't really benefit from a catch can setup, take a look at this. This was after about 6,000-7,000 miles. If you ask me, it was clearly money well spent!

I ordered the same unit today. From the pictures I've seen it looks like the Can fits fairly tightly in amongst the works. It is difficult to get the Can off to drain?

I would say do not overtighten the bottom "cup" part. I had it pretty tight, and had to unmount it to separate the two. oh wells..

Yea I know. Its an alarming amount isn't it. Think I will be pulling the intake manifold soon just to clean it out from what obviously made its way in there before the can was installed..

With that much oil are you sure you didn't overfill or run the oil right at the top mark? That seems excessive. My 1100+rwhp with rings gapped for boost car doesn't see even a 1/4 of that in the catchcan.

Looks like you have a mechanical issue. That's not normal in any way.

How high to you run the oil? Overfilling the oil is probably the first thing I would look at.

If that isn't the case, leakdown and compression. That is WAY more oil than you should be getting.

One of the reason's my C7 is gone. Had plenty of blown cars and hot cars Never ever needed a "catch can" till the C7 showed.
The new z06 shouldn't need one!

I installed it exactly as the instructions showed. I'll take a pic tomorrow and get it up of how the lines are routed..

Thanks, your install pictures would be helpful. I'm planning on starting on my Z51 Catch Can install next week. By the way, do you have the Z51 or the base engine?

While your captured level of oil does seem high, based on pictures others have posted (and the mileage they noted), of their Catch Can being approximately 1/3 full after a few thousand miles, your oil level isn't too surprising, especially if your engine was running with the oil level being over the recommended level.

I'll have pics up this evening that show how I have an installed. For the record for everyone, I have a base model (non-Z51) that is NOT supercharged. Currently at 22K miles. I have a Halltech intake ARH long tube headers, NPP exhaust, a ported throttle body, and a custom CMR Diablo tune.

Ok I took some pics showing how I have the can installed:

This is how the included C7 specific instructions showed that it should be installed. Let me know if anything looks off? (Besides the line I purposefully moved to take the pic lol)

Holy cow!

I've got a can on my ProCharged C7 and all I get is water that I need to dump every 1000-1500 miles.

What about all the oil that is going through the valve covers? That still dumping into your throttle body.

Holy **** dude!

I'll make sure to check back in this thread. I mean many people have these on their cars, and not one person (but you) have posted this amount of oil in the catch can! something can't be right. I wish Corvette engineers saw this and had an opportunity to chime in! I do know if it's installed wrong it will cause a mess of **** (from when I had my C5 and the PCV valve etc)

I don't believe in them and think it would be an installed item that if anything would be routed back into the oil system (closed loop) but your pictures have me very curious!
