Default A&A Supercharger Install - Air Plenum/Scoop Remount (?)

Shop is attempting to put everything back together after installing the S/C and noticed the hood scoop normally mounted to the front of the car interferes with the intake duct going to the blower.

Should the scoop be left off and if so what is the impact to the vehicle..assume the engineers wanted it there to optimize airflow out the vehicle...what risks are there with not re-installing?

Have yet to do an A&A kit on all the C7's we have done kits on as they all have been ECS but on those we had to slightly heat the plastic shroud up to conform it to the pipe in order for it to clear. If you can't get it on don't stress over it. The real fun is when we do a cam and our longtubes

I ran my car without the duct for several days and it didn't make any difference to the temp measurements. Also, it allows people to see the blower duct work if you have painted them body color and I theorize it may keep the IATs cooler in everyday driving. I doubt you will get any down force out of it at low speeds.

Ok...success at remounting it..

Next issue pertains to the plastic shroud/plate which attaches underneath the car from the OEM splitter area. There is now a horizontal intercooler mounted ...does the plastic shroud/plate get reattached over the intercooler or is it required to leave it off for the intercooler to perform its function correctly? We were also thinking about cutting a hole in the shroud/plate.

Fits fine! Just need to play with it! Just like the other stuff they had issues with that really weren't issue's!

Sounds like no instructions and first kit installed!

Yes the panel gets cut and fits tightly over it! Doesn't attach though So air doesn't go around!
Mount the cooler and take it back off mark and cut and do carefully!
Found some pictures!

So the underside of the intercooler (facing the road) is left exposed and unprotected? Not able to discern from your photo how the original plastic plate is cut..is a rectangular cutout made so that the plastic underside plate fits around the intercooler?

Yes it faces down exposed. it will be totally fine and unless you are driving in an crazy fashion, you should never have an issue. The plastic fits around the intercooler and essentially seals it up.

The tune is being remotely supported by Dan Millen of Livernois..affirmative on the LMR breather (see below). Also was able to salvage/adapt the AFE airbox which is superior to both the stock setup and the filter included within the A&A kit (required a custom machined flange). Still some finishing up to do; next few weeks Meth will be installed if i can find a good price on a decent kit:

we sell the alky control kit's for $599.00 and it's the absolute best available. Also I would have Nic D tune it and bring it up to phx, livernois is good but on the spot tuning is the better route to go imo. **nic d is an independent tuner btw and is who we use, so if you use him or not it does not matter to us**

I never saw anything. I’m running the Stock Box with the A&A Filter they supply and it has been fine.
