you can keep AFM on
Yes you can do the tune and keep AFM on. It is a separate parameter you can disable elsewhere in the tool. I shut it off, do not like idea of engine switching frequently, on auto trans. I also still get 30 MPG on highway at 72 MPH average speed. Probably can get 31-32 MPG with a bit lower average speed...

I have the Z51 with the A6, aFe cold air intake and WeaponX ported throttle body. I also have the Diablo 93 octane tune installed with AFM (DoD) disabled. The tune made a heck of a difference but I also had Lew at DiabLew.com fine tune (NPI) the setup and his tweaks really put the cake on the icing.

If you can copy and paste files you are qualified. It's worth doing. It is also a learning tool when reviewing data log files on the free download Dataviewer software. You can see exactly what your car is doing throughout the rpm.

Both offer the same tuning capabilities, the Trinity is a monitor that adds on screen gauges, a virtual drag tree, LED shift lights and gauge alarms, and more

Having used HP tuners on my C6, and handhelds on other cars, I suspect the Diablo just provides a user friendly front end that accesses those same parameters. As you know, HP tuners has a Ton of direct parameter functions...Just scroll around and find the one that affects throttle response. It's there somewhere obviously, as it is changeable.

The 18 you refer to is listed as a % on the inTune/Trinity, and it is increasing the driver demand torque tables to make the throttle more sensitive by 18% or whatever you set it to.

Sorry, I guess I am late to the Driver Demand party. Yes, I have played with it and mine is increased about 20% but not across the board. That's the nice thing about a custom tune, you can tweak the cells you want and leave others alone.
I don't know what the Diablo changes on the table, I'm sure he will reply.
At full throttle this table can help prevent closing of the throttle blade if you are making more power than stock. At part throttle is basically demands a higher torque value for a given throttle position vs MPH (or RPM if you want). It can make it feel more responsive but it really won't make the car faster.

AFM Again!
This subject is probably getting boring. C7 owners with the A6 were expecting to be able to run in 8 cyl only by changing to Sport or Track mode as is with the M7. As a matter of fact the C7 Brochure indicates in the ACTIVE FUEL MANAGEMENT section: "AFM is utilized or disabled at the driver's discretion". This is a direct quote. That is why many owners thought they could disable AFM by switching to a different mode. I have contacted GM on this and I am still waiting for a reply. It appears they owe us a software update.

Well....I don't think GM owes us anything actually (having read the disclaimers in the brochure). With STANDARD EQUIPMENT (M7) this is true. With the optional A6 this changes.
Don't like it, just tune with the Diablo, or slot your shifter into M mode..

As a manual owner looking from the outside in, I am surprised that Chevy doesn't disable it in Sport or Track modes.
