I certainly wouldn't call that stealth. Especially when compared to the typical JL stealth box. That looks more like a custom sub enclosure than anything JL would market under their Stealth series brand.

True audiophiles cringe at the thought of a "high/low input" converter...even if made by one of the best, JL Audio Clean Sweeps.

Any solutions or ideas on how to add a true high end head unit in these cars yet? Maybe a single din in the glove box ran separate from the integrated dash screen

I hope this will help all interested to understand the Corvette sound system and to freely commit on how they perceive the quality and sound produced. I have read in several reviews that the 10 speaker system was real Base
Heavy and the tonal adjustment didn't do much to help!!

Would appreciate input.

Eddie

Factory system is a great FACTORY SYSTEM. Again, if you didnt know there was a Z06 coming your would think you had the best Vette out there. The JL system is the Z06 of the audio game.

It looks bulky her but I assure you its pretty slick! and you can still reach through to the hatch storage behind you. A single sub will also be out like the c6 stealth box that sits in the rear corner.

I'd like to place a preorder for all of this gear now. Is there a way to do that? (seriously, I'd like to be customer #2 for this)

You would be in your own territory there - supply the needed wiring (illumination, power, ground, standby) and run new wiring to a rear amp, doors, etc. Placement would be up to you depending on where you would want to fit it - not a lot of room other than the glovebox, and that's not very convenient.

Breakdown of components. Unsure of price point on stealth box as it has not been officially released yet.

ALL JL AUDIO:
2x C5 650 component speakers.
Amp HD 900/5
2x 10TW3 subs
**Stealth box loaded with 2 subs (~999.00-1200.00)
2xCleanSweeps
Wiring
Bass ****

thats your list.

Two of the L441dsp CleanSweeps, or one of those and one of the CL-SSI?

I just spoke with JL Audio, and they've confirmed that the two-sub enclosure is now available for the C7 coupe, and that the JL stock number is 94604. Retail price is $1199.

I found that turning off the audiopilot helped.

For a stock system I was amazed with how good the Bose system in our '09 C6 was, then when the C7 came out surprisingly it was even better. I don't generally turn it wide open, but at 80% I'm plenty happy with the stock Bose setup... Which is amazing because when it comes to Bose, I'm usually in the camp of "No highs, no lows, must be Bose...
I knew this guy who had a 5.v0lvo that used to get broken into constantly...LOL.

I'm no expert, but if there is an 8" sub already in the back for the noise cancellation, why can't you replace it with a real sub in that spot and wire it in to handle the lows? Then just add components to the doors? Seems like the most stealth option to me unless GM did their magic and made the spot somehow unsuitable for a good sub to fit/work properly.

to my knowledge its not wired for sound, only to the NC mics placed throughout the car. Bose is proprietary, it is not wise to wire up anything after marked to a Bose system as they usually use 3Ohm, 6Ohm loads not the typical 4Ohm or 2Ohm loads. also a factory am is not powerful enough for a good aftermarket subwoofer, enclosure is cheap… its just bad.

The Bose system is OK. Could be much better. I'm intrigued by this.

I still miss that car, it was pretty much bulletproof, hell it hadn't moved in over a year when I hopped in it and drove from there to NC and on to MS, never missed a beat. I'd still be driving it if the frame hadn't broke I've thought about doing another one, but LS based this time of course...
