Default A Handy Pump for the Trans Fluid Change

Did the fluid change with RedLIne D4 ATF. Used the 1/2 gallon spray bottle available from Home Depot ($11) and some plastic tubing to do the fill. Pumps the fluid using air pressure in the bottle. Heating the plastic tubing with hot water allows it to be stretched over and turned onto the threaded nozzle (after discarding the spray tip).

Used a velcro strip and the exhaust pipe to temporarily hold the plastic tube into the fill opening.[/QUOTE]

The Redline D4 ATF made a noticeable improvement in the M7 transmission, more so than I expected.

I had the same results! Redline has served me very well over the years. Their fluid even made the otherwise amazing transmission in my [new at the time] S2000 shift better.

Just a note from the 2016 Z51 service manual - it is noted to run the car for 2 minutes in neutral after the initial fill. This is for the fluid to recirculate through the system if you have a transmission cooler. Then you have to reopen the fill plug and verify the fluid is at the correct level.

I checked the sticky threads but didn't find an equivalent procedure for the C7 A6 transmission used in 2014 models. Does one exist? I did see one in the C6 forum but not sure if the procedure is exactly the same. I've been reading that the fill plug was eliminated on the 6L80 used in the C7 and some special tool needs to be screwed into the drain/overflow bung.
