Default Problem with roof latch on the coupe

i just got my new stingray on friday. I was trying to remove the roof and there was no problem at all, did it by myself instead of with the suggested 2 people in the owners manual. the problem started when I tried to put the roof panel back on. it wouldnt go back on, the rear part would only go in fully one side at a time and when i tried to do the other side, the original side would pop back out (even had the wife try and push one side while I did the other, but it didnt make a difference). because the back wouldnt fully go in, the front pins wouldnt align completely so the roof wont latch on.

anyone else having this issue and is there any remedy? or am I doing something wrong? watched the video on youtube and it seems i am doing everything correctly.

I had the same problem recently....I had to rotate the front passenger side latch toward closed just a little and the roof fell right into place. I have not figured out the problem yet but will look closer the next time I remove the roof.

I have noticed the seal on mine gets pinched in the back corners and I sometimes have to fiddle with it to in correctly as I am going. Overall very happy with the operation of the roof but sometimes it does seem stubborn to go back in, like the opening is just a tad too small for the panel.

May change with the season (for those of you who have seasons).

Seals are stiff when new. Mine's only been out a few times, but same experience... It's doable...just takes a little finessing

I've always just used Aerospace 303 with good results instead of the recommended grease you buy from GM. I also noticed the transparent top squeaked/made more noise than the painted but this fixed it on my C6.

I use this on the seals of my cars now. Works much better than 303 for seals, in my opinion.
