Two part question rims and tires for supercharged guys
When I do my build I would like to stay with the same height size tires and rims on my Z51. I wanted to know what is the widest rim/tire that the Stingray can fit without cutting anything.
Also for high horsepower guys what is a good tire that also won't kill you in the rain and totally destroy the cars handling capability. I know you can't have everything so I would look for a tire that improves traction but doesnt sacrafice everything in the name of traction. Thanks guys

depends on the offset. 325 on a 12" with +83 offset stuck out on mine too much for my liking....some people don't seem to mind that look.
305 on an 11 with +83 backspacing should look perfect. my wheels should be here next week so I'll post pics.

325 on a 12" wheel
Here is a pic of a 325 on a 12" wheel. It is definitely a tight fit. Higgs advice is correct. I recommend 305's with an 11" wheel, and 83mm offset.

I have ECS kit with restrictor plate (550HP+) at wheels. I am running stock Z51 wheels/tires. I have had it out a few times in 20-40 degree weather (dry) and didn't have any problems. Granted, I didn't do any full throttle launches

Drifting
I am around 600 HP and the stock tires would not grip even in warm weather when hard on the throttle. I'm running a 305" Toyo 888 and they hook up much better.

I seemed to spin my Pilot Super Sports in second gear regularly with a stock engine. Just got my car supercharged (750RWHP) and put Toyo R888s on my stock Z51 rims. So far I haven't had any spin in any gears and I'm very happy with them.

But isn't the cornering capability vastly downgraded with those tires?

R888 are good for cornering. They will stick better than Super Sports.
However, in my opinion, they don't stick THAT much better, you can still spin the crap out of them so if you are going to get a tire that you can still spin you might as well just control your throttle and get a tire that isn't ungodly loud and wears out in 5K miles.....that is if you have a street car, which I think we all do.
I've had R888s and they were ok but it sounds like a mud terrain on a truck, lol.

The R888 has always been quiet and super sticky for me. Comparing them to a PSS doesn't even seem fair, the PSS is a turd in my opinion.
Personally I think the R888 or the NT-01 are the perfect street tires for a car that really gets "driven"...

I usually agree with you on most things, but not this.

My criteria for "enough" tire is you can use the power and in low traction conditions the car is controllable under part throttle, the latter is as much about tune as peak power or tire. If you want to be able stand on it with zero slip especially from a stop, on down shift, or corner exit, then even stock Z51/Z06 don't have enough tire
