We're always happy to help out of state customers get the most performance out of their Corvette but we're even more pleased when we can turn a quality job around quickly, without having to ship the customer home empty handed. Recently, we received a call from Anthony, an enthusiast from Indiana, who was looking to add the Vengeance Racing VR590 package to his gorgeous white Z51 C7. Instead of shipping him the package (which we are more than happy to do!), Anthony chose to bring the 'vette to us, entrusting our technicians to do a quality job in a short amount of time. Three short days later, we had Anthony's C7 back on the road with an additional 77-rwhp on tap and a camshaft that sounded as good as it ran!



VR590: The VR590 takes our standard VR500/525 packages to the next level, adding a custom camshaft along with a complete professional ECU calibration, which allows customers looking for the extra power, torque, and sound of a camshaft to maintain stellar drivability and performance in all conditions.


Installing the camshaft is no quick feat on the C7, but our technicians have done a number of C7 camshaft swaps and have the procedure down to a science. Deleting the DOD lifters requires removing the cylinder heads, which can be daunting for the DIY home swap...





Along with the new camshaft, lifters, valve springs, pushrods, timing chain, and upgraded rocker arms, we also install a set of long-tube headers on the VR590 package to really optimize the engine combo. As you can see, these American Racing beauties were further upgraded with ceramic black coating for optimal performance on the street and track (did we mention Anthony loves road racing?!) along with the X-pipe.





The whole package was topped with a Halltech Stinger CKN intake, which lets the combo breathe easy. Plus, it just looks awesome!





Results:
On the rollers, all of the effort paid off, with the VR590 package laying down 505rwhp and 465rwtq. That's a gain of 77rwhp and 42rwtq! Best of all, the gains are across the board, as you can see below. These gains backup our previously documented VR590 build
